Its easy to take a Corvette and make it fast, something to be more proud of if you make a Skyline fast.

Couldnt have said it better myself, with spring right around the corner I cant wait to get my car out of the garage and test it against some of the Vettes in town. There is a air force base 10kms out of the town I live in and it seems that all the pigeons out there drive Vettes so there are about 25 of them driving around in the summer.

We will see if I can keep up with them,there are no ZR1's so I think I have a chance against them. I have a 07 Chevy diesel that put down 589whp on the rollers in 2wd and I only lost to a Z06 by 1 truck length, my car embarassed my truck in a race. Time will tell.

Have any of you guys with GTR raced any Vettes ? how did it go ?

Sadly, I can't race since there's more 9-10 second diesels in town then there are fast cars. Diesels are great at making 1000ft-lb to blown your doors off. There's a black 2009 GTR in town that supposedly got whooped by a duramax here which doesn't surprise me. Small p3nis trucks are what seems to be popular with the "hillbillies" around here.

A few summers ago I worked in Ft. Sasakchewan AB, and it was saturated with diesel trucks!! Small man syndrome.. jk

the power that Diesels have in them is unreal, NismoS-tune there are no 9 second trucks up there and as far as I know Kevin Morkens Dodge is the only street registered Dodge diesel in Fort mac that is running low 10's - thats scarey for a 7500lb 4 door work truck haha

Mike Drever runs his 03 dodge ( fastest street registered common rail diesel on the planet 9.38 sec 1/4 mile ) on the street all the time but he lives in Medicine hat so dont have to worry about him.

I wish my GTR would make power as cheap and effiecient as my Diesel.. I live in sask so there arent many fast diesels here that I have to worry about but the thing is they are sleepers so you never know.

Il keep your secret that you lost to a VW haha sorry to hear it, if you were losing you should have done what everybody in my town does - that is if you are losing just let off the gas and tell them you heard a funny noise so you backed out of it just as you were catching up, or the "missed shift" is pretty popular here - even though when you issue a rematch it is never followed up haha

interesting thread... The way i look at it is there is always something faster. No stressing out if anything beats me. I rather appreciate his ride.
