I just pulled the lines and the cannister out, capped the ones I couldn't get out to refrain from getting leaks.

Yea the two lines going owards the timing belt cover are vaccum lines that lead to the intake side and there's one line going to the back of the car , i've heard that you should keep that one un capped and vented.
My car keeps on stealing my money .

the two vacuum lines, i connect to eachother, and the keep the other unplugged

pull the line off the bottom and scrap it, it connects to a little plastic piece that goes through the a little hole cut in the frame rail. just a vent for it.

I block the 2 lines, but the vent for the tank, I always just pull out the hard line. It goes just below the master cylinder. Then I drill a hole in the frame rail and stick it in there with a grommet. I keep those fuel vents away from the hot side of the car. I`v had 2 friends now burn their cars to the ground by removing it and not venting that vent line properly. Not skylines but still a simple deal.

in a nut shell yes. Nurf it all.

Tho, if I have to recommend a mod to someone involving fuel vapors/fuel tank ect I dont **** around. When fuel is removed from the tank it needs air to fill the tank back up. It gets its air from that vent line. I still say get rid of the hard line and plum it into the driverside frame rail. This does two things. One: cleans up the engine bay a little and two: keeps the function of the tank vent.

I know Haig back from 2008 DMCC season. He knows his **** but am surprised he would just tell you to block it off. He must just be used to building drift cars :P

blocked all the lines. no problems.

however, some people put a check valve on the fuel tank line. (so that air can go in, but not out...so that you keep tank pressure)

You doNt want too muxh tank pressure. On one if my gtrs I blocked the fuel line off, when you remove the gas cap it literally shoots off into your hand. Wwayyyy too much pressure in there. Vent it I say.

Just stick one of those little filters on the rubber breather line at the tank. Keeps the fumes at the rear, away from the engine bay. Or put in a one way valve (any pcv valve) if you want it to pressurize.

My car spits fireballs a lot, I think i'll do the valve myself. Shouldn't be a problem but you never know.

I don't see any real point to removing it, I understand it cleans up the engine bay but is there anymore advantages (besides enviromental)?

on a hot day the fuel expands creating pressure in the tank, causiog the cap to shoot off air like you guys speak of. So if you put just a filter on it, it can still expand sending fuel vapor out of the vent. Only takes a spark on a hot day. Thats why the canister vents into the frame rail. I toss it in the pass side frame rail so no heat can get to it. My mod is the most simple, most easy to complete and makes the most seance.

End rand. Tho, there is only one way to do things. The right way! If anyone has a more info to convince me other wise I wouldnt do anything other than what I recommend if converting to other than OEM!
