  • timing belt tensioner and other questions

hey i have a few random questions. im swapping my motor into a GTS so thats why some of them are retarded.
    1. my timing belt tensioner the spring behind it is not hitting that little knob the sticks out, im not sure if it matters, my timing belt is tight just not sure if that spring is supposed to rest on that post to serve a purpose.

    2. i see people talking about boost restrictors all the time and its starting to worry me, if i plumb the turbo wastegates to a vacuum source will it serve the same purpose or do i need these restrictors.

    3. injector resistor pack, do i need this? or since its a rb26 i wont need this?

    4. are all rb clutches interchangable? if i were to get a mild clutch fdesgined for an rb20 that can hold 500hp will i be able to use it with the 26 flywheel? reson being is i want a better clutch but dont want to pay close to a grande for a clutch.

    5. for my apexi avcr boost controller if i were to run a switch would i be able to monitor both injector duty and rpm?

    thanks

i ran my wastegate lines to a common vaccuum source when i did my rb26 swap in my r33, also i used an rb25 clutch and flywheel, uhm the timing belt tension i would set that spring up, i just re did my timing belt today cuz last night i ****** it up. resistor pack you must have for an rb26, i have a brand new in box straight from nissan japan if you need one. as for your electronics i will let someone else answer that!

alright what does this resistor box look like?
i guess i better change that before i drop my motor in.
im using the rb20 trans for now, im sure the rb25 clutch and flywheels are interchangeable with the 20?

will i have to shim the starter to use the rb20 flywheel? i noticed the teeth are thinner.

okay so i got everything together and half in the car only problems/
there is a flange type thing that bolts onto the aacv valve not sure where the 2 lines are supposed to go, cant figure it out for the life of me, not sure if they are for coolant or vaccum, or if i even have them on right

also i cant find a plug that plugs into the stock resistor pack.
