They can take alot of power don't worry about that ,all you need is to change is the stock rod bolts to arp items. The 26's can take alot of power with new bearings, stronger rod bolts and correct oil drive issue.
My car keeps on stealing my money .

often you hear about 500hp on stock rods (the bolts are the weaker point) and there's the ODD time 800hp. If you got extra cash, while the engine is out, get better everything so you never have to upgrade again (in the near future anyways). You could also do cryo treated rods which makes a stock rod as good as eagles. Eagles is supposedly a lower quality rod compared to HKS/tomei or Carrillo but I somehow got convinced of going that route as they were more than good enough for 800hp.

stock rods are prett good. ive done a couple personal builds with stock rods. Never had any issues. Tho, if your going to do arp bolts, why not just get the eagle rods. They come with the bolts already in em.

You say you bought pistons already so its going to be another $500 for the rods "ish" If I have only pistons I keep the stock rods and bolts. If I need to buy pistons I buy a package deal. CP's and eagle rods are a common package.

what about the difference in weight of STOCK ( 630grm ) vs eagle ( at 495 gram) ? What does it change ?

Less rotational mass = faster engine response. Makes for a lot less stress at 8k rpm as well.

because I read on the topic for about 1h30 today and the concensus was that stock rod are great if matched with arp bolt ( 80-100$) and have them machined ( which should about 1 hour so let's say 60$) .. So the REAL QUESTION IS: does the extra 300 $ ( maybe a bit more maybe a bit less) is worth that little extra engine response?

If the indecison before you build it and then constant doubt once it's built is worth saving $300 then go ahead

I probably spend about $300 a month on coffee's at tim hortons , i'd drink instant coffee for a month and have eagle rods

If you lopp 135 grams off the rods and then another 75 grams off the pistons over stock, that will make a huge diff. in crank weight (1.260kg) once you carve that weight out of the counterweights to ballance everything. Add to that a light weight flywheel and it will rev like a crotch rocket motor.

Stock rods can handle alot, but that kind of weight savings in an engine that can rev to 8500rpm is nothing to sneeze at. I'd do it.
