Forgot to mention: If you want every last bit of paint off that plenum before repaint without taking it in for Sandblasting. Spray gasket remover on it!
Dang! You got shocks, pegs... Lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?

I've heard varsol doesn't hurt it.

Why isn't this sealant mentioned anywhere in the Service Manual? I cleaned my throttle bodies thoroughly with brake clean during my rebuild. Are there any other issues other than a high idle? I am NOT pulling the intake side off after all that I have been through this year with the rebuild.

I've held my throttle bodies up to the sun and I can see a couple spots where a tiny bit of light shines through....is this going to tamper with having idle issues or a high idle? Want to know befor I pit it all together and find out the hard way

This is one of those damn problems to which there seems to be no precise answer. There are several issues that will cause a high idle with the RB26.
                  -Vacuum leak.
                  -Improperly adjusted AAC/idle.
                  -Malfunctioning (dirty) AAC or IACV.
                  -TPS out of adjustment.
-"POSSIBLY" cleaning the sealant off of the throttle bodies.
The last one I spoke to two guys at my local Nissan dealer (over 50 years w/Nissan between the two of them) and they haven't seen anything like that sealant and didn't believe this could cause I high idle.

There is a test to verify if the IACV is working properly but it has to be removed and that is a BIG pain unless you already have the I/M off.
