on R32 GTR, there is a yellow tag in the boost lines or something? how can one tell if it has been removed? I'm assuming the japs would have already removed it but anyone know where to look specifically?

when you look at the engine in the bottom right below the srut brace there is a black boost solenoid with one pipe coming in the bottom and one in the top. feel the pipes one will be hard right at the top of the pipe closet to the solenoid. undo the clip and disconnet from the solenoid ( under the yellow) in there there is a little brass screw thing with a hole in it. just remove it from the pipe and plug back into solenoidNEPTUNE OPTIMUS MAXIMUS

Boost restrictor helps stock boost control solenoid control boost level. Not a good idea to remove it. Just get Nistune, adjust boost level at ECU. Or remove boost restrictor, stock boost control solenoid and fit adjustable valve, duel solenoid boost controller (HKS, Blitz, etc).Last edited by Skym; 12-20-2010, 01:42 AM.RESPONSE MONSTER

Lol well I know it doesn't add fuel I was thinking more along the lines of the extra boost without a retune might cause the ecu to dump fuel if it didn't like what I did (ecu wouldn't compensate for the extra boost properly) I not the smartest guy on this planet but I know fuel doesn't run through the boost solenoid lol so then the system would be up and down? Can't properly maintain boost level?

I thought it said in the GTR manual that you can remove this for more power if you want more from the factory. It should then boost 1bar iirc.
I'd just get rid of the whole factory solenoid and run a good mbc.Last edited by quadracer111; 05-26-2011, 11:24 PM.BNR32- Sold

Yup apparently .75-1bar which is just under 15psi? And ya when i do my build I will get a good boost controller and get rid if it altogether obviously but until then (after this summer for sure) I will pray to the car gods that my exhaust wheels stay in one piece less then 80k so shouldn't have a problem if your going to do this and your all factory still I recommend checking all your piping. Right after I raised my boost (via the restrictor) a couple of my clamps came loose after a quick pull. Just a thought

As long as you stay under 1 bar ~ 14.5 psi you should be fine on stockers. Just make sure you dont go over this until you get a good boost controller. Watch for spikes too if you can, you wouldn't want to be overboosting at high rpms without knowing it.
Yeah the piping clamps is a classic. The first thing to check when your car suddenly starts running like crap is intake piping.R32 GTR FULL SERVICE MANUAL DOWNLOAD:
