  • Anyone running link g4 extreme? vs power fc vs aem ems

So i did some searching and didnt come up with anything. i know most guys on here run pfc and they have success with them but i want to try something new with a few more features. I am trying to decide between the link g4 extreme and the aem ems v2. Anyone running either and have anything to say about either? I plan on going map based with a big single. Also anyone know where to get tuned with link g4 in the lowermainland? i know rg does aem ems.

Link G4 ECU is good bang for the buck. From what I understand, Link G4 ECU is basically the same as Vipec ECU, but rebranded Vipec ECU. Link G4 has the same features, software, etc. It has advanced knock control (better than stock ECU) with additional knock block, etc (same as Vipec ECU).

Cam? at Lightspeed can tune Vipec ECU, so he probably would the the expert on Link, Vipec ECU's in Canada -

i'm curious about feedback on launch control, antilag, flatshift, etc. with this unit. its damn tempting to swap ecus for these features!

Haven't used any of it as I was just breaking the car in this summer. I've been told that they work really well, will look into it this summer lol. Kinda a novelty tbh but cool nonetheless

Stay away from antilag though, will destroy your manifold and turbo

I think the V88 and g4 extreme are pretty much the same. Cam tunes my car and has always been great so I'm switching from my v44 to v88.

Dollar for dollar vipec/link are unbeatable. The next step up is motec, and that is 3x the price for the features.

Flat shift and launch contol are awesome. Far from novelties if set up correctly.

I've had a V44 for a while but there's no need for me to go V88 as I don't have many extras in my mildly modded car. I am going to start using flatshift, launch control, knock control and closed loop boost control this summer but I won't be using anti lag, I'd like to keep my car a while (from what I've read about anti is that it chews through turbos and exhaust seals fairly quick, probably all internet myth though). Maybe next summer when I get a better gearbox and fuel system I'll go V88... I'd have one already if I wasting doing a budget build
