  • Sinlge trhottle body/Short intake on RB26 IDEA!!!

Yes, we all know that single TB RB26 is a very expensive piece!, What do you guys thinking about doing single throttle body this way!??? Or if anyone already done this, please show us some feedback!

Here is my idea, the two flanges if they come flush with each other have zero edge, what i ment is you don't have to port it they come precisely clear for airflow!
And we can you something like Q45 Throttle body!

EDIT: Hay all of you non believers, here is a guy from GTRPWR who, by the look of it, brought this exact idea to life:

Considering your plans are to make big power with that TB, and you've spent money everywhere else that's required (Management and Fuel). Wouldn't it just be cheaper to go with a better Manifold? Just my $.02.

Taking what pmdawg said... A used greddy manifold is common to be found in between the price range of 600-800$ depending on the deal/quality.

But on another note I have recently talked to a few people that have actually had mixed opinions on here and on other sites. Let me put it to you this way if it was me I would be calling up rips racing and ordering their custom made intake manifold for single itb or if you would like to stay with your individual throttle bodies just go with a greddy manifold. Best thing about the rips one is that it will keep stock outlet position for intercooler piping and will be extremely high quality if not the best!
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

With the short runner lenght you might end up loosing power.

Not at all, if anything you will pickup some topend. You may loose some lowend, but these things have NOTHING down low off boost so no worries.

I would not bother pissing around with a stock TB like a Q45 (allthough it does look almost as big as the manni opening). You are spending nothing to do this mod so pick up a 90mm aftermarket one for about $300. An LS1 cable TB is 88mm (iirc) and has an IAC valve already on it to get rid of all the crap under the manifold. It can be had on Flea-bay for about $40 if you are patient.

Finaly i got someon to understand me with my budget intake build! The openings on the Q45 is larger than intake and besides i had a very good luck with Q45 in my previous ALTIMA build!
I got this TB off the Pick n Pull for dirt cheap! The alluminum flanges are also cheap (Xcessive mfc - 50 bux - http://www.xcessivemanufacturing.com...pid=128&step=4 ) + some welding cost and i can have single throttle body intake with shorter runner for under $150, yes it will require to modify the whole idle air control sustem, which i don't fully understand just yet! And for the Throttle cabel i think i can you 240 cable, not shure off that yet!

Here is the intake i did, i did all of the measurments cutting and shaving, buddy welder only did weld this thing for me! Worked like a charm!

There are tons of tuners - but most tuners do things the way everyone else does them , a true tuner thinks outside the box and lets innovation guide them. Try out your idea and post us the results , you might start a new path for others to follow . This is how evolution works

Nothing like a fresh idea to shake things up , this is where the fun is ...

^^ I thought you might have had that the other way around.......

Nice manni, that's the kind of sh1t we need around here. I am so tired of seeing guys spending $1500 on stuff you can build for $100 and then get someone to weld it up. I have yet to hold a Q45 TB in my hands so I really have no idea what it's like to work with (can you measure it for me....lol). The IAC stuff under the the intake should work just like before but you may have to alter some lines or whatnot to compansate for the log being closer to the block. The 240 cable seems to be the cable of choice for people going single TB. Another thing you can do with this (because you are welding stuff up anyway) is to angle the log opening outboard a little, both to make up for the fact that the manni is now a little closer to the block and to direct a bit more air to the front cyls a little to help correct the issue with too much air going to the back of the manifold.

Like I have said in the past, as soon as the multiple TBs start to give me trouble, they are going in the garbage and I am going single TB. This looks promising and something I have wondered if it would work, thanks for being the trailblazer, keep us posted.

Twin cam 240 cable will do it for ya. The only thing is they are 140 from Nissan! Now that's a rip! The manifold will be cheaper to make then the cable to buy

                        Hi,

You know, making a throttle cable is pretty simple, and can be pretty cheap too.
A throttle cable is really similar to a bike brake cable. ; )

For old car sometime they aren't available and you got to get creative. Not every
custom job has to be expensive, sometime it can be surprisingly cheap. lol

                        Good luck

                            Huh??^^^^

There's got to be a cheaper place to get the TB cable from other than the d(st)ealer.

A bike cable would be absolutely fitting in this case, lowbuck is where it's at boyyyyeeee.
