I didn't read all the way threw the post but has anyone suggested just running a 400lph walbro or the dw/aeromotive 300lph in tank and maybe upgrading the lines. should be enough fuel.

Jon is right. the controller is not needed. i got a little excessive on my fuel system but im happy i did, its beyond enough fuel for my set up and it adds a safety layer that helps me sleep at night. only complaint is that the pump is pretty loud.

So here's the poop on my car.....

NOT twin Tomei's in the tank.......twin stock pumps and stock hardlines...........see my sig....

If my car can do that on such pathetic fueling equipment then an A1000 is a cake walk. I know of 4 dudes running the A1000 and not one of them use the speed controller and not one of them has hot fuel. I don't think it's that big of a deal, especially with a surge tank. Using a return line that is the same or bigger than your feed will help this too.

If I was to go that route I would use a Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump. That way you are totally covered up to 1200hp at a fuel pressure of 70psi (45 base plus 25psi of boost).

    Jon.

Ok but say you would only go for for more the 5-600hp range for a dd, would a single if not two tomei pumps suffice? I understand the purpose behind it but would this be needed? I understand it's a safety measure to do a swirl pot.

And yes Daryl Jon isn't from Ontario but I think he ended up making between 500-600awhp anyways and I'm sure he is happy with what he accomplished based on his videos.

The swirl pot means you have a buffer zone from fuel sloshing back and forth and risk having the fuel pump not having enough fuel to suck up. The Tomei is an awesome pump, but if you are going with a swirl pump set up I'd go with an out tank setup with Walbro or Bosch pumps. 800hp is an incredible amount of power, and not needed (and a disadvantage) for the tracks in Ontario. A nice, responsive setup with 500-600hp would perform far better and be tons cheaper.

There is some debate but would there be enough flow if someone would want to keep the stock hard lines? Another thing I'm wondering is if 2 tomei fuel pumps in tank would be enough? If I do go with a larger setup I would rather do in tank unless there are extreme benefits from the swirl pot...? Definitely won't be considering this for a while but would like to know what I should be looking at

    260lph free flow
Had one personally fail on me, caused no problems, bought the same pump again and still like em.
Well said! I think I'll go with the single. Can't chance leaning out on twins.

Anyone use of hear about the Weldon 1100A? Supposedly it's superior in every way that the A1000 fails at...

I have a swirl pot lined up but am trying to decide on the output pumps, whether 2x 044s (scary) or 1x A1000 (yeah, the pump controller is a must but I can't find a usuable RPM output from the ecu to control the PWM yet....

Anyone running an A1000 should use the speed controller.
For any brush style pump, on any type of vehicle, the Aeromotive Fuel Pump Speed Controller (FPSC) minimizes fuel heating and vapor-lock problems by matching the duty cycle of the fuel pump to engine RPM. At low demand, the FPSC slows the fuel pump down, reducing the chance of suction side cavitation and vapor lock. Wh

Pump will last longer and less chance of vapor locking the pump due to hot fuel.

The a1000 is loud there is no way getting around that. The heat isnt too bad though. im running -10 feed and -8 return lines.

little messy but simple and effective none the less

So the guys running big powerful singles, what did you do to remedy the heat problems? According to some places, a big pump like that can cycle the whole tank (on a return system) in less than 12 mins so we're talking lots of heat. Anyone running speed controllers?
What about line sizes? An A1000 uses -10s but most rails use -6, so what did you guys do for lines? Run a -10 and split to -6s?

And finally noise, any boxes or rubber mounts?

Anyone try the A1000 in tank pump?
