just saw the -5 r up to 360hp and -7 310 hp
so with both it's possible to hit 600hp, -5 r pretty similar to the GT2530 one's so i am wondering how fast the -7 spools compared to the -5 and if the max power is similar to the -5 on high rpm, anybody gotta dynorun of both or knows what should be better? i dont wanta track car, it's more just like a pretty fast street car, so for daily driving and on the track maybe 1 or 2 times a year.
goal is to get to the 500+ PS/HP Club with great power and response, fast spool up and all the power to the rev limiterthe turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure

i am wondering if a set of GT-SS Turbos would be good 'coz i've found a set of nearly new HKS GT-SS Turbo's for 600GBP, should be around 970CAD but they r in a very good condition, just the turbine wheel show's some oil.
it's hard to resist for that offer but heard it run out at 6500rpm, so should i give it a try?the turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure

If you value response at a few hundred rpm lower than the -5's above about 100 HP peak power, then go for it.
Where did the oil on the turbine come from?
The airflow required to make 500 whp puts the -7's well past peak efficiency. I'm sure you can make that power, but it will not be as efficient as with the -5's.
It's hard to really answer these questions until you've been there, which is part of the fun!
Enjoy!

The oil was just from the way they were stored in the box, the input port drained over the turbos and dripped on the turbine. They had done under 20,000 miles so are in very good condition, never used oil when on the car.
and that r the turbo's
only run 20 000 miles, 0.8bar on low boost and 1.2bar on high boostthe turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure

from what i know is that the turbos r in good condition and doesnt need to getta rebuild, have minimal shaft play and run less than 20 000 miles.
but i still can't decide, should i take them or just wait to buy 2860R -5 in a few month, spool up to 7000rpm should be enough and 500 was the goal what i should get with the SS but a compare bitween GT-SS and -5 would be nice in a dyno sheet or so with same engine specsthe turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure

-5 would cost me about nearly 2000CAD without shipping and without customs but those would be new than, also should be a nice price but at the end i think it would cost about 2500 - 2650CAD or more with shipping and customs in Germany, used from UK i could getta set of -5 (include hard pipes, induction, stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold, stainless steel tubular elbows) for about 1950CAD used but still shipping cost would come extra.
but as used turbo's goes they r only available as long as someone takes them.the turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure

-5 takes 500rpm more to hit the same boost as the gtss. so the gtss is quicker and yes you can feel that difference.
Will the gt-ss go up to 600whp ? Maybe is it easier to get 600whp with -5? yes. do you think your stock tranny will like that much power? no. so better stay at 500-550whp and both turbos can get you there.
One will be quicker the other will give more torque.Need detailing done to your car? I'm open to travel to detail your car :

i know HKS made about 574hp and 629Nm torque out of the GT-SS with light overbore pistons and 264° Cams so should i better go with JUN 264° IN/EX 9.15 lift cam's or 260° IN/EX 9.15 lift cams from Tomei with stock bore?the turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure
