Hey guys I searched but couldn't find anything. I read on another forum that the factory ecu on the r32 gtr is actually pretty good for aftermarket modifications it was said that if you can find someone that will tune it, it can support into the 800 horse range? And it's less prone to issues that u can get from alot of aftermarket ones (reliability wise I think) can anyone confirm this? Or is this just complete bull? even if it was I doubt it could support any aftermarket boost controllers or more than 1 programmed map but just curious thanks in advance

ah ok cool ill look up the nistune thank you darkcaporal and ya it would be nice to be able to run 2 or even 3 different maps but if thats the only sacrifice instead of a 1400 dollar ecu and my car will run just as good then why not im not goin for crazy power anyways. unless the factory ecu bunks out on me of course :P thanks guys

I have heard of people using the stock ecu but I would imagine it would need a reflash of the board and have all new stuff put in. If I found someone to do this I rather go thT route than aftermarket.Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Awesome. Good info, thank you wedge. Nistune will most likely be the way I go. I'm not after crazy power (not to be misleading the factory ecu with nistune can handle a lot of power) as a wise man once said. A simple setup is a reliable setup and for this reason I might go single turbo as well but thanks for the input guys, very helpful.

k so i read the website. a little disapointed that you cannot use map sensors but not a huge deal, z32's ftw i guess. but it also said something about a difference between the early and late model r32 ecu. does anyone know if ther would be a benefit to buying a late model over my 1989 ecu? and also does anyone know if the ecu can control a water/meth kit (different flow rates at different boost levels and the ability to lower boost if the system loses pressure?) i was thinking of the snow performance kit. the site didnt mention anything about this. lol i may need to go to some sort of ems if im this picky i dont know "P thanks in advance guysLast edited by gtrjerry73; 05-29-2011, 05:00 PM.
