Torque gauge

Hi all,

I was watching a vid "Best motoring 1990 GTR test" and was looking at the Torque transfer gauge. It says it can transfer up to 50 Kg M to the front wheel. I've always heard it was 50% of the torque to the front wheel. Which means if you have a lot more torque then stock it will send more the 50 Kg M of torque to the front wheels. Not really important just weird they would use a gauge that reads Kg M and not %. Can someone clarify if they have nothing else better to do.

The calibration on the torque gauge is NOT torque. It measures axial load transfered through the clutch pack, so the harder the system tries to lock the transfer case, the higher the guage will go.

If anyone has driven on ice/snow you'll know that the gauge is pinned but there's not enough torque being transfered to crank a Lada.
