This is from the Redline site:

Film thickness greater than an SAE 75W250, yet low fluid friction like 75W90

"Not recommended for most synchro applications due to the product's extreme slipperiness"
Well then, guess I'd better stick with the redline shock proof since I'm already screwed over the years. Anyone sell PPG gears sets for good prices? I'll need a new gearbox some day lol

Well me n a buddy drained what we thought was the tranny drain plug, but was the transfer case, so I might as well put new stuff in there, anyone recommend anything, I was told auto tranny fluid GL4? Then we drain the actual tranny fluid and my god you guys should of seen what came out. It was like rotten curdeled milk mixed with pepto bismo. It was unbelievable, looked like its never been changed before.. Only 22 years. So I'm going to buy some cheap tranny fluid to put in and drain to flush most of it out bc I'm sure it's caked inside.

Anyone recomend anything to get as much as old stuff out? Right now its jacked up and been draining since 4pm im letting it sit all night.

Sounds like your trans might have already had shockproof heavy in it, lol curdled milk mixed with pepto.

But what does shockproof look like, would it not be just a thicker oil

Yes shockproof looks like strawberry yoplait drink and smells pretty nice too, the urge to taste it is very real , make sure you eat well before you use this stuff so your not tempted to taste it .( tastes gross btw just incase you were curious)

Looks nothing like regular trans oil, thick and milky and clings to trans parts the heavy is pinky colour and the shockproof light is blue and milky. Crazy thick hard to fill trans with if using a suction gun cause of its thickness. Sounds like it was already in your gearbox.

Really, so I probabley had shockproof in it, now by putting in redline mt90, probabley won't do anything but would be worse no?

I also need to fill the transfer case, what do you guys recommend to put in it? I was told automatic tranny fluid GL4?

Ok so called right drive and was told to use dexron 3 in transfer case. Anyone know if any dexron 3 would suffice... I'll fill that n then fill tranny then hope all goes well.
