Yeah I guess im lucky that its only the stock turbos that broke, which is the reason why I need to find out what happened so it doesnt happen again.
The head is currently being fixed and cleaned up. The inlet valve seats of 4,5 and 6 were damaged which is why the valves weren't sealing. Otherwise the block and pistons are all fine, just a few scratches on the top of the pistons.

As for new turbos, I cant really decide. I know that GT2860R-7's would be the best, but i really cant afford them. I'm going to the Garrett Dealers tomorrow to get a quote on repairing the stock turbos with steel wheels. There are some cheap locally manufactured T28 turbos which bolt up to the stock manifolds and dumps, but i then need to fabricate new inlet and boost pipes and make up some oil and water feed lines.
I've seen those N1 upgrade kits on ebay, but I've been through lots of forums and i cant find anyone that can give feedback on their quality and reliability??

@bobbo, yip its the one on the right with the worst damage. Only the valve seats were damaged in the head.
Yip S.A is a country with lots of potential, but the government is ruining it
