  • Srt8 brembos on a r32

So i dont know if anyone is aware but the z32 guys have had some pretty good results fitting these huge srt8 brembo calipers onto their cars with 14.25in rotors from 370z and the proper adaptors

Since i think the r32 and z32 front knuckles are pretty similar, i thoought id give it a try

This brake upgrade is essentially a bbk at a fraction of the price

If anyone has attempted this any advice would be appreciated, and if anyone is interested in the results i will probably do a write up on it

here is a overview of what the guy did

    http://forums.nicoclub.com/akebono-1...s-t545946.html

there is a more detailed discussion on 300zxclub but you have to register to view it, but yeah, you can basically get the front done for ~$600 if you can sell your old setup to a 240 guy

Finally got the rotors! fitment is perfect, and my god they are big

    So far list of parts:

    - 370z sport package front rotors, they are 14inch/355mm and 32mm thick
    - 4 M14x1.5 bolts 30mm long for the calipers
    - new steel brake lines with long thread nuts, they are the exact same thread and pitch as the GTR brake line but the thread just needs to be about 5-10mm longer
    - adaptor plates for z32 front fitting of the SRT-8 calipers they are exactly the same, no modification needed to fit the r32(can be found on 3zc.com)
    - bunch of washer plates to space out the bolts

^ Nick right? not sure if i would need different brackets if oem calipers orientation is the same as that of a z32 then should be the same brackets too

Here's a link to a dude who swapped r32 gtr calipers and rotors to a z32 without any modifications other than trimming the rotor cover, this strongly suggests that the difference between the z32 and r32 are in the calipers themselves which means the knuckles are probably the same

hopefully this is the case cause then it would just be a bolt on affair with minimal efforts

You plan on doing the bbk all around? It would be cool if its possible to have the swap for all 4 corners for a grand

at this point only fronts have adaptors made, the rear needs a bit more work, they will probably be running 370 sport package rear rotorsl since the size is identical to the srt8's 13.8in rear only difference is in rotor thickness

the drum is the hand brake and the 370z rear rotors work the same way

The CTS/V calipers are a good option too, cheap as hell and 6 piston.

Not to nit pic but those Brembos look to be heavier (do I see a big cast iron piece in there) and made of more pieces than the Sumitomos (ie: more flex), not sure if these particular calipers are an "upgrade".
