If you havent had your car tuned by vlad or stan than how can you recommend them to tune a car. Please ask them how many years of tuning experience they have.
You mention professionalism and then bring up something as irrelevant as your competitors' years of experience in an attempt to deter business to their shop? Very "professional" on your end.

I'll keep this to a bare minimum on a public forum to maintain my "professionalism" but unfortunately for you, your attempt to deter people from giving their business to Vlad/Stan because of "years of experience" was weak and quite frankly pathetic. Anyone who knows the guys at Pur Auto know the quality of their work. I've sent a ton of business to the guys at Pur confidently knowing that the people I send to them will receive the same quality work/build as my Skyline, which was daily driven/beat on all summer long and completely free of any issues.

To end this note, if anyone has any questions about the quality work done at Pur Auto, please do not hesitate to send me a PM and I'll gladly talk about my experience as a customer of the shop.

the car is back in at whitehead,

they found that the coils were arcing on the ignition system under load, and when its wet out.

so i was able to find a good used set of splitfire coils and new coil harness (thanks speedfreak, and good luck with your rb30 monster)

i will find out soon when its ready for its retune and dyno

yesterday i picked up the skyline from whitehead and took it to rs tuning to watch in person its dyno testing,

the car was running much better, no sputtering, the wideband was looking in check most of the time...
the car was able to pull a 442 rwhp after a few attempts.
Radek didnt have to adjust anything with his previous tune... the major issues were the ignition system(coils) and the fuel pump module(the pump module had to be modified to run on high all the time instead of modulating)
the cars power is exciting now...finally!!! talk about "night and day"

while on the dyno it was found that it still has some small issues.... and they will need to be addressed, so it remains at Whitehead.
it may need either new maf's or a crank angle sensor....

i hope that my next post will be about me bringing my car home...completed and running right

well.. i just picked up the car from whitehead, just in time for the nice weather...
the front end feels tighter, and at 18psi it's very responsive

lets hope that it stays this nice for a long time to come

only one month later and 1000kms of use and the GTR is parked as its unsafe for road use.

while walking past the car the other day and noticing the camber of my front wheels seemed off, and the front end feeling looser.. i decided to pull the wheels off on the driveway.

I found the new stillen upper adjustable control arms not installed properly (all four lock nutz can be spun with a finger), what a death trap!!!!!!,
the car leaks coolant, oil on my driveway, the car is idleing at 1400-1800 rmp all the time... up and down
the idle has a miss, the alignment they had done makes the car pull hard to the right all the time, and it has a fuel cut out around right corners

i have over 20k into this car now and the car has spent almost a year with them. whitehead refuses to do what they promised when we started out

they DO NOT know GTR's well enough

i have now given up on them, as they seem to think all these issues are things i must live with and aren't a big deal

if your looking for a NIGHTMARE of an experience USE WHITEHEAD

How were the upper control arms not installed properly ? not adjusted right ? came loose ? ( this is a very common issue with adjustable r32 upper control arms when driven hard around corners )

Where is the coolant and oil leaking from ? this should be easy to pinpoint. Could be cylinder pressure blowing oil out of the engine if it was burning oil previously , was a compression check done ? was the engine rebuilt or is it the original not rebuilt ? Also if it's losing oil and it's burning it , the plugs will foul causing misfiring.

The high idle could be a few things , badly adjusted crank angle selnsor , throttle position sensor , air leak in the system. Too much air will always elevate the idle. If the car is burning oil through weak rings and you have oil blowby it could be contaminating the Idle valve under the intake plenum , this will cause the same problem. If Radek cranked the boost on a completely stock engine it's possible it blew out part of the paper intake gaskets which is a very common issue in which case move to a MLS intake gasket.

Apart from the suspension - this sounds like alot of symptoms resulting from a worn out engine.

If you use aftermarket adjustable suspension designed for track use you will have to inspect it frequently for continued servicability . The adjustable element means that there is more to need adjustment . If you want install and forget arms use the factory suspension geometry that has little to no adjustability. I have a set of adjustable cusco arms on the front of my R33 GTR and have had to slightly readjusted them already in 6000 klm and realign.

I would suggest you start with a methodical inspection of the engine condition ( compression test , plug inspection , disassemble the intake side and look for oil contamination , check the breather system etc . Start with the simple stuff first. Do a leak down test and if necessary remove the head and inspect everything.

hope that helps . I wouldn't necessarily blame whitehead for this , its an old car with an old engine and it wont necessarily be reliable unless you rebuild it properly.

Fuel cut around tight corners is probably either a lack of fuel in the tank ( less than 1/3 full ) or a fuel pump pickup not properly seated in the tank . pull the pump and inspect it.

i sure hope the engine they supplied and installed isnt weak after only driving the car a couple months

the coolant leak is at the back of the engine and im hoping its from a heater hose,

is it normal for all 4 lock nuts to be off the adjuster on the control arms?
if that is the case... why do they make something so critical so dangerous?

i think they didnt tighten them up properly... i haven't tracked my gtr or drive it very hard, just some highway pulls once in a while, i have a z31 that is my track car.

the fuel cut out happens when the tank is full, any time
                      but only around right corners...

i think there is a vacuum leak or leaks, and that is the reason for the high idle...
they had to compensate for the car stalling at lower rpms

                        Heya

If the leak is at the back of the engine it could be a hose , could be a frost plug leaking , could be a cracked coolant steel line that might have been crushed , knicked during the engine installation . Could also be a cracked head if the coolant wasnt bled properly leading to a said crack or warpage . You need to trace the leak .

The adjustable arms are intended for race application and most race cars are usually gone over after each meet , this type of issue would then not matter as it would be caught as soon as your alignment deviated .

If they had to compensate for the car stalling then there was an inherent problem that should have been fixed , you fix the cause not mask the symptoms, if thats what they told you and did I would be a bit upset.

If they supplied the engine was it rebuilt ? or just pulled from another vehicle ? An engine can develop problems at any time , some have blown up freshly built engines for whatever reason. Whats the engines history ?

If the fuel cut is happening with a full tank on hard cornering , id be suspicious of some loose wiring that may be shifting during cornering , most of these suggestions are purely guesses though , without looking at a car it's impossible to make accurate diagnosis.

hope you get it fixed for skymeet

                        Cheers
