did you do simple things first like checking yo battery voltage..

Sounds like it backfired and blew off a boost tube, happened to me a few times, check for boost leak

Mine would start, but barley idle, soon as I pushed the gas it would die. , I actually figured it should run fine until I was under boost but guess that's not the case, if the leak is bad enough, it won't create enough vaccume either, my leak was pretty small but enough.

^^ and I believe timing was the cause of my backfire

Could be. I'm thinking didn't check straightness of intake plenum flange and blew intake gasket??? Or ACCV paper gasket has blown (engine won't idle)???

Engine usually doesn't start if CAS is unplugged or set incorrectly. If engine has sat for a long time (months), usually has rust in bores, etc (use fogging oil down sparkplug holes to prevent this from happening) and needs a boost with battery booster to get engine to crank over and start. Had to do this to my car after sitting for 6 months, even with a charged battery.

Start with what components you worked around that could have caused this issue. Grounding straps, other wiring, hoses around the coolant hose you replaced. If it ran fine before its good to verify your work before diagnosing a no start issue.

Traction is optional, so are zipties

Please let me know how you tackle the problem....my car (R33GTR) cannot start after I cracked the intercooler....
I have been messing with the fuel pressure and it won't start now...I can hear it fire up a little while cranking at 200~rpm. Swapping Power FC and stock ECU make little difference... I know I have fuel and spark. I think my case is a vaccum leak (from the intercooler)
Before it won't start anymore it began to lose power and HORRIBLE mileage (half tank for 30 kms) and when I let go the throttle I could see a huge black smoke from my rear view mirror. Probably yeah check for vaccum/boost leak...

My guess was going to be timing aswell... any luck with this issue?
waiting till the states lets me own one legally...

This is crazy, my buddy just had this happen to his STI. He swapped out the clutch, and when he put everything back together the car wouldn't start. He traced all his ground wires, and he found one going from his ECU to ignition coil melted. So i suggest tracing all the ground wires and making sure they're all secured. Another thing you can check is the clutch relay.

I had a similar issue last spring after taking my car out of storage, it would just crank but wouldn't fire up. After 2 months of troubleshooting, it finally came down to swapping the ignitor box on top of the motor (at the very rear) and changing out my plugs.

That can happen to RB engines as well (fault with loom to igniton module from ECU). Igniton module itself sometimes can be the cause, but engine won't start when it's hot and then once cool engine starts and repeats. Most of starting problems I have had were traced back to faulty CAS, intake airleaks.

In some rare cases leaking headgasket can be the cause.

Are MAFs plugged in and everything? Pull the CAS and spin it to check injector operation, check fuel pressure, There are some very fine grounds on the coil harness that are easy to break so check those. As described above I can see this being a ground issue as something was broken or dislodged as engine shifted down to slip off transmission.
