I suppose, but you and about 5 other guys on here are in the minority with the whole machine shop black hole phenomenon. The skyline bible tells you all you need to know. With that information and a shop that has built a decent amount of high performance motors you should be fine.

They guys at the machine shop will do whatever you tell them too. Give them the piston manufacturers sheet on skirt clearances, the specs on brg clearances from the bible and tell them that this is a motor that will turn 9000 rpm and put out 700 hp and they will get the picture. If they don't seem to grasp the seriousness of the build, move on.

Your best bet is to talk to the motorcycle shops in town and see who does their machining, those guys will understand a small engine making stupid power practices.

This ^ happened not only to you my friend. There's a couple of us on here that either bought engines directly from ztune or from a certain tech that worked for ztune. We've all encountered the same fate.

A good deal is only a good deal if it lasts.

I really dont know why all the past issues were happening. Really, it's a piston engine, not a nuclear reactor. There are 14 brg clearances to check and 6 piston skirt clearances with 12 ring gaps. If one is wrong you fix it, not bolt it back together and cross your fingers. Must have been a bunch of cases of "I don't give a rats-ass".

I never get tired of linking this story. Not only does it hammer home how tough the GM LS motors are BUT how making sure a STONE STOCK engine is set up properly can allow it to take a beating...again and again and again......

FORCED INDUCTION - LS Power!! Twin 76mm Turbo 4.8L 1200HP & still going!! - Info is from a local forum: http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/9053/ttsbc1.jpg http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/1299/ttsbc2.jpg http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/1562/ttsbc3.jpg http://imageshack.us/f/200/ttsbc4.jpg/ so to all you lsx boys.....

In the end, it was discovered that this was a 4.8L truck motor, not the 5.3 they thought it was.
