Choosing the BEST BOV for a GTR

I have Twin HKS valves that came on my car, they are loud and I dont enjoy the attention.
Venting To Atmosphere (VTA) will as stated previously, result in lower response between shifts and excess noise.
I have intended on Recirculating the Valves, but I dont think there are any recirc adapters available for the HKS Valves. I havnt changed them out for now because they are HKS and work well enough for now.
Go for a BoV that you want, a brand that you are happy with and is ultimately reliable and affordable. And I would recommend recirculating.

cortexx, his response was a sarcastic one. He was stating the disadvantages.

Now just out of curiosity, at a higher power level like 800-1000hp would this be a beneficial addition? At that level I could possibly see it being a gain but just want to try and understand this a little furtherMiss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

The factory recirc system is mainly to conform to noise regulations while still avoiding turbo flutter. Just basically gives the air somewhere else to go instead of directly back into the turbo. This being said it is obviously tuned to accommodate the air that is already in your intake piping (the recirculated air) so your ecu dumps a little extra fuel to accommodate. If you use atmospheric dump valves the air isn't there and you run a little rich between shifts (as I'm sure most of you already know)
The only benefit to running VTA type bov's is in higher boost applications where the recirc system wouldn't be efficient enough to accommodate all the air.
There is a hybrid system that can recirculate most of the unused boost pressure back into the piping but still vent some of it to atmosphere so you still get some noise. Look up GFB hybrid valve.
I will be getting a VTA system but only when I get a retune to rectify the rich condition between shifts might even save a little fuel going this route?Last edited by gtrjerry73; 03-01-2012, 11:26 AM.
