Setting the rev limiter on the factory ecu is easy, if you have software and a chip burner as i do

Easier with Nistune, just plug laptop up to car and make the changes. Then save changes to ECU and done.

Found the answer to you question, which is better (fuel or ignition cut). It's the Pro version of PowerFC with ignition cut, launch control -

      RESPONSE MONSTER

The most epic signature ever "epic".

well after reading up on all this there are goods and bads to both limiters.

Factory fuel cut limiters have the potential to create engine knock when it hits at high rpm, and after how hard my rb20 got knocked and lived to tell another day i think i'd take a bit of knock over a ignition cut.

Bee*R and other ignition cuts limiters you don't have to worry about any form of knock but its extremely hard on turbos, oil pumps, cats etc. Some extremely important and expensive pieces to a motor.

So as far as the two evils, factory fuel cut is better, very small chance you can risk a motor. But with the Bee*R you risk motor, oil pump, turbo, basically the entire engine with all components. You loose one you loose the rest. Being hard on one piece of your engine is still better than kicking the shat out of the entire thing every time.

more you race, drift, etc the more your riding it which means the greater chance of something going wrong. I'm sure it would be fine if you touched it very rarely. Its repetitive use, and durration of use that kills things

thread jack kinda... how exactly is the ignition cut damaging to various components? I know it sounds harsh and stuff, but im just having a hard time wrapping my head around how it damages the oil pump and stuff. Thanks

i its set really bad it can "shock" the oilpump and take the gears out.
also not to sure on the but you can burn a valve predetonate, not sure if it has happened before, but its probably not to good like that Bee-R junk i would stay away from.

When bouncing the rev limiter it tends to vibrate and vary the rmp so fast that the oil pump etc just get rattled appart where a factory one is more steady and smooth. Each time it doesn't fire the fuel in the cylinder that produced the flame usually ingnites in the exhaust giving the turbo a beating and creating the flame out the back. From my understanding!!!

Thats how it makes boost with its launch control.

                    gasses

i think the sounds you are hearing is the fuel wich would cool the engine inside that was not burnt igniting at the tip of the muffler were it would come in contact with heat from tip and air out side ,the sounds are unburnt combustion.

you can always set the bee-r rev limiter to not be so harsh. Theres a gain dial on it to adjust it to be a slow bounce or a really fast bounce.

                        it's like heroine.

Sure it may be the "best thing a human being can feel chemically other than natural euphoria induced by endorphine" but it kills your motor slowly but surely.

I wouldn't put one in a street car where reliability is needed without a doubt.

On an engine that I would be thrashing and opening up more than drunk sluts' legs, I'd put it there and use it when needed.

Yea that makes sense. I still think the flames looks cool, but i should probably be nice to my motor considering my car in now on its second RB.

sorry for thread jacking but speaking of limiters... when I hit 220 maybe 240km/h (jdm speedo shows 180km/h max) I felt like I hit a fuel cut off point. Is it because I need a bigger fuel pump?

do you have a wideband in the car? dose it suddnly go into the 13-14ish afr range then your running out of fuel, have you snipped the speed limiter wire that goes into the ecu? if you do that you should not have a speed limiter...
