I did it the McKinney route... had her running in 10 hours. My close friend has went the non McKinney route and together we know the ins and outs of the swap.

Theres plenty of info around about how to do it.
Ill be swapping my RB20 into my S13 within the next month or two
once ive accumulated some more parts.
Post up a build thread if you do decide to go through with it
i love seeing the RB builds and is always nice to see the different ways people do em.
Ill personally be using the R32 Crossmember.
I dont post a whole lot just kinda read around so i cant post links but ill see if i can PM you some really helpful ones to get you started.

And gavin...how was the fit with the crossmember. I havent seen any real fitment pics with it being used. Only have seen pics with various mount kits and such. And whered you get your wiring info sources from, and was it relatively straight forward?

Hope this helped and the questions i asked should help both of us

i'll be doing a s13 240 rb20 swap this year too, probably in the summer though once i find a 240 that i'm okay with.
i'm sure i'll be pm'ing you on occasion to figure out the details.

it fits fine, not a ton of room in the front

i ran a puller on the back and a pusher in the front. all the trans mounts bolt up in the stock position, had to cut and turn my 02 housing to clear the steering. as far as the wiring... theres so many different guides out there that have bits and peices of information, but none that have it all. ive wired mine and a few more rb20s into s13s, and a r33 rb26 into an s13 so i know how to do it. if anyone needs the wiring done and doesnt want to do it themselves, i can do it. if you want to try and do it yourself i can try and walk you through it. but its a pain to explain lol.

holy tight front fit batman! looks like a lead foot would make that motor jump through the rad!
what do you mean puller on back and pusher on front?

ARC240 has an RB-swapped S-chassis. He might be able to help you out.

ya i remember seeing arc240 at importfest. Did a excellent job and took home an award. But for some reason i remember him having more space than that. Even someones 240 i was in had a rb25 in it and it seemed to have more space. I dont know maybe i'm thinking it!
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

yea, ive got the am rad and stock mounts, the other ones push it back an inch and a half i think? i have a puller fan that sits between the alt and motor through the belt and a pusher fan on the front of the rad

Hooly that is real tight lol.
                        Yee ARC240s car is amazing.
He had great fitment, had enough room to fit his intercooler
piping in between the timing cover and rad.
I plan on using an intercooler with both Hot and Cold sides
on the same side tho cause i think the piping looks cleaner.
Anyone know what kinda mount setup ARC240 used?

Here are some fitment pictures for you. Mine's an RB25 but it's the same basic dimensions, the transmission is a bit larger though. I made my own mounts so it sits as far back and low as possible, the transmission is actually lightly touching the tranny tunnel... I forgot to give it a little hammer love before bolting it all in. I'm not sure if an RB20 transmission would have more clearance around the bell housing or not.

That's the best picture I have showing the rad clearance... I have significantly more room than the picture above.

Hmm, yeh ive seen your build thread too actually.
Thats definitely alot more clearance, and the RB25
tranny is quite a bit bulkier and fatter then the RB20's which
is pre much identical to the KA tranny.
Hopefully my RB20 will have that much clearance up
                            front!

Thanks man, glad you like it! Yep, I do have enough fitment between rad and timing cover, not by much though, I/C pipe is a 2.5" diameter and just BARELY squeezed through. Tight fit, but she works I guess lol. As for mounts, crossmember is an R32 GTS-t and trans mount is KA, sits nicely, no excessive vibration, does sit a LITTLE high, but it's nothing that can't be lived with. I liked the idea of a nice, solid crossmember with stock mounts, but preference is preference, a few people I know using the McKinney mounts like them, so I guess it comes down to what you want in the end. Be sure to message me if you need any help.
