Yeah it seems really like it would come down to personal preference.
Now that I know the the RB20DET isn't as bad I though for my needs then that worry is gone.

Reason I was asking I found this, which I will probably never see ever again.

MINT - 1993 Nissan Skyline GTS-T with zero mods, zero rust, also certified for $5000.
Interior is mint and even has OEM floor mats from the look of it. Only 102K on it.
    I am appalled.

    P.S. I contact the seller, it's legit.

Thanks guys for your help, I think I'd be happy with any Skyline turbo model lol.
Also why I didn't mention the GTS-4's as much as I haven't really seen them in my area at all for sale.
    Only GT-R's or GTS25T's/GTS-T's.

But if I bought a GTS-4 and swapped it to a RB26. Heck I'll just buy a GT-R and save the time.

...of course the seller is going to say it's legit. Take it to one of the sponsors garages, that deals professionally with JDMs / Skylines and have them tell you what it's worth. Look at M-Type's (banned) GTS build thread and the great legit deal he got - LMAO; then he had the nubs to get pissed at the people that helped him legitimately fix his mess.

Great deals are out there, shop around and don't get pot-committed until you know what you're dealing with. Count atleast another $2500 + just for minor mods and unpredicted stuff after you drive it. Also, just a small nugget - have you checked on insurance? All the best.

Well he didn't say it's legit. But I got that from the questions I asked him lol.
Of course there is always unseen problems. But in-comparison at the ad stage, his was the cleanest R32 GTS-T I've ever seen for sale in my area. I'll try to check out his build lol thanks.

Of course when I do buy it especially if it's straight from Japan I'm going to do, all the gaskets and seals, all the fluids and belts. Just to be safe if it hasn't been done when it was imported you know?

Yeah I checked out insurance, for at least 2 years I've been looking at insurance for a Skyline.
Man...in Ontario, a young guy doesn't get the most leverage from insurance companies lol.

I found insurance and it's somewhat affordable lol. Maybe I should just wait till I'm 25 hahaha.
Second though no. But I do know a friend where is monthly insurance on his R32 is only 90 or so.
Damm I pay more than twice that a month on my Accord.

What other stuff should I replace or inspect when I get a Skyline?
