  • CXRacing - Manifolds

Does anybody have any experience with CXRacing exhaust manifolds for the RB20/25?

Yah I had one that came with a setup that I bought off someone. It was a bottom mount and it cracked within a year. I would recommend staying away from manifolds that are made from 304 stainless steel as you are just going to have to replace it. They are bound to fail. Some faster than others.

reinforced mine and make 430WHP with it been good so farr but i think it has problems with boost creep or spike.

It is a waste of money and time from my experience. Even if you spend the time and or money to reinforce the welds or modify it flows like crap compared to a quality 6boost/old greddy/fullrace/rawbrokerage manifold setup.

Those are just the ones mentioned Id trust/ and or had a chance to ride in with those manifolds.

Your wallet,gf,wife, turbo and engine will thankyou for going with quality on this purchase. No for the name but the flow of the turbo/spool/heat/ fitment and overall engine performance.
Traction is optional, so are zipties

Have you seen the newly designed manny with sced. 10 tubing....I would hardly consider that a poor flowing, prone to cracking manifold. The price reflects that too...the days of $200 chinese ornaments are over.

Dont waste your time on these chinese mani's. They boost creep terribly, are prone to crack and the fitment is usually garbage. Just spend the 1200 on a 6boost or get one built. Good luck!

Boost creep is a trifecta of factors...

A: waste gate vent pipe is too small or poorly positioned.
B: using a too small or poorly manufatured waste gate, always go overkill on size and buy quality
C: the turbo turbine housing is too stinking small because of this ridiculous disire to have a "response turbo"

Having my manifold out to do some maint. and looking at it overall, it aint that special. The wastegate is in the same spot as the CXR manifold and, although the pipe size is bigger, is about the same length. Granted the Trust T4 manifold is ment for a 800hp setup, hense the larger waste gate pipe. The CXR manny would be fine for a 600hp build, on an RB25. Just dont use a "600hp" turbo on it, use a manly snail and drive angry. The CXR manny has nice, large 1.75" runners too so it will make a ton of power on a 25...most likely to big for a 20.

If the turbine and wastegates are too small you will get boost creep with any manifold. Spiking is a whole other matter and usually the fault of the controller, not the manny or the gate (unless the gate is woefully too small because the turbine is too small).

This is the only one from them I would use, there is a $180 one but.....you know.

These were my thoughts as well.
I'm only running an RB20 guys, I'm not going to get anywhere close to 6 or 800hp.
Currently sitting at just over 300rwhp.
$1200-2000 on a manifold just seems excessive for a 400hp goal.

Manifold cost is completely unrelated to hp goals.

check out hybrid performance manifold. Made in nz by a dude named Kam. He has a pretty good reputation on SAU. I have one his manifold. a topmount one with internal gate. Its not made of cheap stainless steel. its thick piping. so far im really satisfied with it. im running a td05 big 16G from kinugawa and it spool really fast on a rb20.!

Hybrid Performance is New Zealand & Australia leading suppliers for Aftermarket Performance Car Parts. We sell Turbo Manifolds, Exhaust Manifolds, Intake Manifolds, Turbochargers, Oil Cooler, Radiator Fans, Exhaust Heat Wrap, Adjustable Suspensions & more

edit. cost me 550$ shipped and took 3-4 weeks
