Where did you get your pistons from and cuanto?
Don't jinx my success! lol, im seriously superstitious.
They're CP Pistons, got them through JNS for about $850 USD. CP has the molds for our pistons now, they can be gotten direct or even from other sources for cheaper. I've seen them as low as $700 USD

I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

      • Need a recommendation for oil for the first start-up and break-in. M13 or Rabbit mebbe? I've heard not to use synthetic even if that's what im planning on using later

        • A little comparison shot. Looks a little better, I'll do a comparison again when everything's buttoned up.

          • Just use dyno oil, I recommend shell brand, just non-synthetic.

Then do an immediate oil change to get rid of the metal bits.

Also don't forget to disconnect your CAS and crank your engine a few times so it primes w/ oil.

How much were your rods and what are they?

            • heyyyyyyyyy!
looks awesome! cant belive im not seeing this till now/
yeah use the shell oil like m13 said , id suggest unplugging your injectors to prime the oilpump or disconnect your cas
and just do 3 false starts should be enough.
              whats next????

              • I got Spool conrods with ACL bearings, $560ish for the set.
What's next? A few months without a chance to work on her, unfortunately. But I should have money for nistune and injectors by next spring so I can install my top mount (and some cash for Mr Rabbit). Have you guys ever seen a top mount turbo installed without a front facing plenum?

Ill make sure to disconnect the CAS and turn it over a few times to get some url moving around in there. 5 or 10w30 should be alright, no?

My local tuning shop recommended oil change after 10 minutes idling, then about 200 miles til the next oil change. Should I be using something like shell or castrol 10-30 non-synthetic for both initial fire-up and 200 mile break-in? (He suggested castrol, not sure whether to use the same oil for fire up and break in)

                • I still think that plenum can be saved btw Rabbit lol. You should ask a machine shop if it can be leveled by taking some off like a cylinder head or block

                    • She runs! But with a nasty coolant leak out of the N1 water pump.
Has anybody else had similar symptoms?

                      • ya it has an oval hole so you need to seal it well.

                        • Did you just put some extra silicone around that oval hole or something? I can't remember if that hole is blank or takes a bolt

all i did was squirt a bunch of sealant in the gap of the hole and got a large washer and just grinned it down till i coved the hole

                              • Pulled the top timing cover, it does indeed look like that oval hole is the one leaking. Could you explain again how y'all fixed this? Im thinking of covering the bolt with silicone and putting it back in, or will that not cut it?
