Still overheating badly. Believe i have air in the system still. Spent probs a good hour today tryin to bleed it all out.
It stopped the overpressurizing that was happening, but she still overheated so i gess imma have to keep trying to bleed it.
Definitely need them plugs, must be horribly carbon fouled from when my maf was ******.
Also can smell fuel in my oil yet again, from when my maf was ******. Ugh Motul and NGKs arent cheap lol 4th set now.
Atm my 93 Cavalier would probably slay my S13 in a race...if the plugs and Oil dont do **** than my timing is off somewhere...
My engine had a Greddy timing belt on it when i got it but i have no idea if it was installed properly or if the engine even got tested with it on. So if that doesnt do it than im pre sure my cam timing may be off a tooth cause it takes like 3 seconds of throttle before the RPMs even start climbing and there is no difference at full throttle or half. Base timings set at 20 degrees. Hmmm.

I don't remember if I saw it, but did you replace the water pump and thermostat? The failure of a shop that first attempted my swap (which led to me redoing everything myself) told me they would replace the w/p and t-stat, but they actually didn't, thing overheated like mad, so I changed both and the car cooled absolutely fine ever since, even sitting there idling with the fans going, temps are perfect. Good progress so far man, I'm sure you're up to your eyeballs with tending to problems, as I was not long ago, but these are the trials and tribulations that come with the RB ownership, once you get her all sorted out, it's totally worth the PITA (thought the pep talk would help LOL).

My motor had a brand new waterpump when i bought it. Could tell simply cause it was all clean and minty and everything else around it not so much.
I also replaced the thermostat. However i found out today that whoever installed the water pump failed...
i was looking at things and noticed one of the bolts was loose and was like well **** son and started checking the other ones
top find that both the top bolts on the tensioner bracket were not tight. Then i found out that theres 3 different length bolts
and if they arent in the right spot they wont tighten only begin to snug and then continue to spin loosely.
Anyways i got all the bolts in the proper spot and all snugged up tight. No more leaking from my water pump!
Spent a good lil while bleeding air and making sure there was none left,
took it for a drive and didnt seem to get too hot (dont have a gauge yet and didnt see any smoke or feel too hot lol)
until my top rad hose began cracking yet again! Ugh its such a pain in the ass trying to find a rad hose that isnt put under
alot of stress to bend at that kinda weird angle with the engine and rad being so close.
        Gonna fix that tomo hopefully.
Still got some hesitation issues i needa figure out tho. Changed and regapped the plugs and changed my oil that was full of
gasoline when my MAF was ******. Runs alot smoother but still lacks some balls and its not near as responsive as
it should be. I gotta pre much build boost to get going or it bogs down and then boost comes on and she starts to pick up, but im pre sure it
should be alot faster. Might be due to my Tru boost settings...things lame i dislike it.
It settings are fuckin stupid to work with, so tomorrow imma disconnect the solenoid and just run wastegate pressure and see if that does it.
Wanna trade that bugger in for a Defi Gauge with the controller but those ones are only 60mm so i dunno.
        Slow progress anyways i spose.
And thanks for the support lol so hard to keep faith in this thing somedays.
Just bought some goodies for the ol' girl though!
A front lip and Z32 calipers, with lines a master cylinder and front rotors with new pads for $210! Chaching!
Also JIC coilovers for $200! Stoooooked on them
Also want to buy an SAFC thats for sale in the marketplace but have been unable to send chuckles a PM.
Think it has somethin to do with when GTRC got hacked.

          WOOOT IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!
So i found a bad coilpack on cylinder 5. Replaced it with a working spare, and BAM hesitation fixxed Finally got a real drive and holy **** the thing is mental! Fuckin music to the ears especially when
          pingin off that rev limiter
Just gotta dial in my Tru boost, its a pain in the ass to find the Spr (spring pressure setting)
Youd think youd just set it at 10 but that doesnt quite work so ill have to tinker but thats minor :P
She still felt like a god damn monster. So stoked to actually be able to have a real drive and kick it sideways a few times hehe!
Now i can stop droppin money into fixxin it and more into upgrades! Front lip is on
Z32 brakes are gonna get sandblasted later this week than painted red.
Coilovers should be here soon, and my Prosport water temp gauge to match my oil pressure and oil temp.
Also picked up a DOHC cluster since mine is pooched totally and a JDM red key ring for $40!
Next on the shoppin list is a 5 lug so i can put these brakes on

And these babies will be getting sandblasted and painted red later this week.

                  Well its update time!

Been really busy lately! Also stuck on finding o rears for the front calipers.
Anyways, i sandblasted my wheels but havent painted em yet, stripped my whole rear interior of sound deadening, relocated my battery to the trunk.
Gotta get my other gauge that Prosport ****** up on not sending me, and gotta strip the front interior still.
Am buying a Blitz Power meter that will be my tach and speedo, and also tells me hp, 0-60 times and sweet ****.
Personal Black Suede steering wheels with red stitching, nismo 2 way, tomei procams!
This winter the build is focused on getting it ready for the track next drift season.
So suspension, replacing all the bushings, aftermarket arms, 5 lug, debating roll cage.
Seats and harnesses, fun stuff like that but i plan on building my RB up.
I got some low compression numbers during a compression test 120 across all of em and that was warmed up.
Think i might build the bottom end with spool conrods and Cp pistons ARP hardware, but i also wanna build the top end with the procams im buying and solid lifter, valve srpings, valve guides. Hopefully funds permit both if not im not sure which i wanna build first to ensure itll be drift ready. Not stoked on having to rock a break in period.
Also am looking for 330ishwhp next season. Nistune, injectors, perhaps HKS 2530 dunno yet.
Then of course more fun stuff like CF hood, aero, HIDs, tint, tails :P
                  Gonna be a fun[expensive] winter.

Where did you piece together your battery relocation kit? Summit racing?

                    Comment

                    • Bought a battery box, 20 feet of 0 awt red wire and 20' of black, new ends and shrink wrap, new battery connectors, and a circuit breaker.
I got all of it free from my dads work except the battery box.

                      • Soooo the project does live
Too busy to update this thread and my
camera got lost a while ago.
The RB is running excellent right now im very impressed with it.
Needs new coilpacks so i can up the boost a bit.
Updates since last time of the top of my head:
                        -CF Hood
-Megan Coilovers swapped from my coupe.
-R33 Rear Ebrake Setup and Z32 Brakes with Z32 BMC.
-Set of 17x9 +18 Stern Axia drift spairs and a pair of
17x10 +20 FN01's. Has wicked mean stance now.
Rockin 225/45R17s on the 9" wheels and 235/45R17s on the FN's.
Needs a slight roll in the rear, cambers max negative on my front coils.
-Isis 4" Dual Tip exhaust. Full 3" from the turbo back, absolutely amazing sounding.
-Removed the seam sealer and stitch welded the chassis, was not fun removing that ****...
have yet to prime and paint the interior. Been thinkin bout putting red Rock Guard, that spray box liner ****.
-NISMO 2 Way is amazing, so much nicer to control, locks hard.
And heres some pics of the beast on a trailer :P
                        Enjoy!
