First off id like to start by shaking my head at Snake i have a passion for hating ford like a jews hate Adolf lol. Yes trickey a LS7 R32 would make me faint hahaha. Thank you Trickey that makes me very happy knowing im not the only one that thinks the wheight diffrence isnt Huge, you got any pics of the engine bay? well VDub you are totally right some of the power has been lost over the years(sadly)lol but like i said a LS1 isnt that much more powerful. Somthing i didnt say earlyer is the L98 is in the process of being totally rebuilt from ground up WILL ADD PICS SOON. Now your right again tho the Tuned Port Injection was originally made for the LB9(305) and then was fit on the L98(350) which is why it is gasped after about 48-5k now their is two things that can be done (i want to keep it "direct injection")#1 get an aftermarket intake base, SLP runners, and then port, match, and polish the base, runners, and Plenum then slap a 52 or 58mm thrrottle body on OR #2 make sure shell be able to breath well past 6k (not that id be able to make any power that high) with this plz DO put more of your $.02 in i love to hear other veiws

lol srry did forget to put that, that wasnt my only aftermarket choice i could go with Accels mini-ram which will dramatically lessen the height of the engine. But dont forget the saying "the sky is the limit" and Chepp i think thats total overkill and johnny i would be surpised if that thing would be able to take off with out twisting like licorice lol not really seeing how that would make it worth my while but okLast edited by BoostGetsYouLaid; 07-26-2011, 07:16 PM.LIFE IS BEST LIVED SIDWAYS

The Holley stealth ram is a great upgrade for the TPI motors, and much more useful than the SLP plenum/runners setup IMO. But if you're on a budget they are kinda pricey unless you can find a used setup. You can actually modify and use a LT1 intake on the L98 with a bit of work, it's cheaper (intakes go for 50 bucks, 200 if already modded) and flows nearly as well as the HSR and WAY more than any TPI based setup would. The reason I was pushing the LS1 is not because I'm a LSx nutswinger that thinks it's the end all be all of engines, I've just spent a lot of money in the wrong direction before only to regret it later. Even if the L98 was free, a budget rebuild/freshening with machine work is usually 1000+, Vortec heads 500, HSR 6-900, Injectors 250-350, cam 300, headers 400, custom prom burn 200, etc...
It adds up QUICK and you'll end up producing about the same as a bone stock LS1 if you're lucky, with a shittier powerband. Again, just my .02, I know I regret spending as much as I did instead of just going with the more modern Gen III powerplant. Again, I really hope you move forward with this, I'd love to see it happen!

The LT1 intake is also another way to go Ive never really checked into it but will now thank you I defanitly wont go with vortec heads 113s would be my way of going(most of the aftermarket intakes wont work with vortec heads from what ive heared over at Thirdgen.org) once again your $.02 is always welcomed and i will for sure try to move forward but it will be a slow proccess due to the fact that i am a perfectionist lolLIFE IS BEST LIVED SIDWAYS
