Really? Guy on the forum here sold it to me as a rb25. Lol, at any rate it spools and sounds awesome. Didn't see much on the housing, but I poke around lots in there so next time I'll check. Thanks for the heads up.

So far the only thing I can see is 21U E. Did this from under the car looking up at the rear of the housing. From what I found on the web, it should be a stock r33 GTST turbo. Ball bearing and apparently has a ceramic exhaust wheel.

So apparently rb25 turbos can't handle more than 10psi. Turned up the boost on mine and blew a bearing. Pics to follow once I yank the piece of **** outta my piece of **** car.

UPDATE: Got the dam thing out of the car and low and behold, compressor side bearing has completely spun and the exhaust wheel has a chunk missing from one of the fins. So basically I have a $300 boat anchor now. Cheapest rebuild I've found so far is $600+ so this thing is finding a new home in the metal scrap bin at work.
            $300 well wasted.

MR FED!!! we are in the same boat. My stocker turbo seal went out on me(stock rb's don't like being spiked to 22psi-via profec b). And instead of an expensive namebrand unit. can i interest you in an really cheap, reliable, alternative?

i actually have one of these(an hx30) and i don't have it on cause havent had the time to take the mani off to get my t3 plates welded. These turbos are cheap and really tough.

I have a question for you though. never removed my exhaust turbo manifold before. should i wait till it's totally cold before removing it or when it's kinda warm??

i don't want to stress the metal before i go and get it welded or does it not matter??

Well, back to where I was before. Bought another used turbo off this forum, and low and behold it blew a ******* seal. So that makes 3 turbos in 2 months. I'm really starting to hate Skylines all over again. I for the life of me cannot figure out what is happening. Everything runs fine for a week or two, then the smoke clouds appear. I think the next step is to stop getting ripped off from the guys selling **** on here and get it professionally rebuilt. I found a place here in Edmonton that can fix it, just waiting on a quote.

Yea man go get it rebuild so you don't take another chance on used turbo. Also If I were you I would replace/ clean our your stock Oil lines. Maybe there a blockage or restriction you don't know about.

Side note' what are you running for a boost controller? Stock? 25 turbos are more prone to failure once push to far past 7psi. Oil cooler would help aswell.
Traction is optional, so are zipties

Running stock. Boost, no controller. Stock wastegate actuator hits 12psi all day long. My 25 turbo only hits 7psi, but I was going to swap actuators and run 12 psi on the rebuilt 25 turbo.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck man.... As Supraclean stated try changing turbo line. I had my Rb25 turbo last 4 years at 12 psi and when I pulled it out it still was mint. So I don't know. Luck of the draw I guess.

I do like the build so far. I am sure once you have a fresh turbo in there you will fall in love again lol
