Hey thanks for the tip love_boost!
Yeah i am very interest in the HDI products.
That sounds like a way better upgrade jut don't think i have the opportunity to relocate tension rods at this time. good for the future.

Where do you guys find all this information from?

Most stuff I learnt was from breaking stuff on my car, talking to lots of tuners / experts in their field or doing stuff on the car myself. Also reasearch into parts before buying, etc.

I've owned my R32 Skyline for nearly 11 years, so have learnt alot. But your always learning, so haven't learnt everything.

yeah thats the only way to do it. Yeah i definitaly haven't learnt everything yet.
So i took the AFC out tonight and resodered the air flow signal wire on the ecu and cut out all the connections to the AFC. I let the car warm up and took its for a drive and experienced no Fuel Cut. So you guys hit the nail right on the head. Thanks.

Hey Skym, if i install the nistune into my ECU and got a retune what type of gains would it offer? large enough to pay the 420 for the nistune and 450 for the dyno retune? Or should it wate till i get a FMIC. Also what is your take on boost controllers? Bad, good, or bad in the wrong aplications?

Okay so bad news bears. When i was driving last night the same thing happening again!!! I have properly removed the AFC. Heres a list of what i have done again: fuel filter, oil, coolant flush, adjust TPS, diff-fluid, trany fluid, lean MAS properly, and put 91 shell octane in it.

Could it be possibly the Cat? would that cause the exhaust manifold to glow red if back up? or could i have a pooch MAS? ughhhh no fun. Considering i don't have enough money for the nistune software yet, would it be smart to go get it checked out with a scan tool?

              any help is very appreciated

If you still have the factory catylitic convertor and cat light on dash light's up (when exhaust temps are above 850 degrees), then yes it's the cat.

If the above doesn't happen, then fuelpump (get fuel pressure checked).

The tuner who tunes Nistune can use Nistune tuning software to check for faulty sensors. He also can download the maps from your cars ECU, which are copied to Nistune board.

Yeah the exhuast light isn't coming on. It just gets red hot!!!
Would they be able to see anything with a scan tool? Due to the fact that i am short on cash. I am also getting terrible gas mileage. I am getting 140km to a full tank? Wouldn't that be related to a MAS, and would that cause excessive heat and fuel cut/Hesitation?

I think what's happening is ECU is pulling ignition timing, dumping in more fuel, so is acting like antilag on aftermarket ECU, which ignites fuel in exhaust. Only time I know of that ECU pulls ignition timing, dumps fuel into engine, is when engine knocks and ECU detect's it.

Only way to find fault is to test fuelpressure. If OK, then test FPR. If OK, then check o2 sensor, MAF, CAS. Anything fuel, ignition related.

My guess is weak fuelpump or 02 sensor failure. If you unplugged o2 sensor to check for faulty o2 sensor, could make enigine go lean and fail, especially if fuelpump is weak or on the way out.

Scan tool (Nissan's Consult diagnostic tool) does basically everything Nistune software, cable can do, except with Nistune software, can modify maps when Nistune is installed inside ECU.

                      thanks man that helps allot.
Do you know the links to test fuel-pressure and FPR and O2?

R32 engine manual should have that info. Most people on this forum seem to have access to R32 engine manual. Or Nissan dealership should have access to Skyline manuals if they service Skylines.

Or buy R32 engine manual from here -

                          There is your manual.

If you think cat is plugged>take off exhaust run off the DP and see what happens.

Check your fuel pressure like previously noted, don't know where you live but you shouldn't have a problem taking it to a local shop and asking them to do so. As well, don't worry about nistune or anything until this issue is sorted.
