Could be a worn gearbox mount, as it usually makes a metal contact sound around gearstick. Also notice gearstick moves to one side alot more when on racetrack or when cornering hard. Use a crowbar to lift back of gearbox a little bit to see if rear gearbox mount rubber is still in one piece. If not, that is the problem. Common problem when car has been drifted or has cornered hard. Nismo had (not sure if they sell them for R32 anymore) a upgraded rear gearbox mount for manual, auto trans on GTS.

You would hear a clunk sound inbetween front, rear seats during gearchanges if hanger bearing on propshaft.

Clunk sound behind rear seats is diffhead backlash and is normal. With 0 backlash, would damage driveshaft's, hence why there is backlash.

If grind sound, could be output shaft bearing.

                  I think , but I'm not 100% sure !

As you can see in the vid , there is not a lot of possibility !!

Of a loosing piece in that part of the drive shaft !

If yeah , Let me know ! :P

That joint shouldn't fail unless rear gearbox mount has failed in the past.
