  • Climate Control LOLS

Not many LOLS in here sorry. Just what appears to be the usual bs?

So my unit works, turns on, off, changes fan speed, mode etc all fine. The display seems fine. I'm told this is a common problem where its the actual display that doesn't work?

Anyway, mine just doesn't blow warm air. Ever. EVER. Even in AC it doesn't work.

Is this again, another common problem? I did a search, but found lots of threads in regards to the display, not this problem, so I apologize in advance if I'm a moron and didn't search properly.

Its the in cabin air temp sensor. It's plugged into the back of your center console surround, bottom right corner.
Check if it's gummed up or dirty or even plugged in. Change it and it'll be fine.

Also run the evac diagnostic test to see what codes come up for clarification

Any idea where to find the sensor Marc? Probably a Nissan Japan order? Finding the part number should be fun....
        Regards,
        Ken.

The actuator test is good as well. I remember someone complaining of hot-air-only and it was the actuator unit jammed. Typical fault and can be fixed.

I have this exact problem, i was worried it was my heater core. When the cabin air temp sensor was unplugged (the way i finally found it) nothing but hot air would blow, even on 18 it was hot air. Once i discoverd it and found it's matching plug i hooked it up and then i would only get cool air even on 32.

The nice thing about getting only hot air was in the fall, at night time on cruises i could keep the windows wide open and be toasty!

What would you suggest for this Marc? try the same stuff as the OP?

Yea, definitely. The link i posted above outlines the diagnostic for the actuator as well, which is handy. There IS a diy in the FAQ on how to check the actuator arm. Sometimes it jams from hot/cold for no particular reason (age related i assume). There's a way to fix it. I've had this issue before, in my case it was just the intake air sensor being unplugged. But definitely look for that actuator diy, I can almost guarantee that's what your issue is.

I'll try to dig it up, but i may pass out soon :P

I pulled the sensor out and she was covered in crap, blasted it with some contact cleaner and it was blowing hot air from then on.

Still need to run the diagnostics when I get a chance.

                    Thanks!

Did you guys have a small piece of felt around your sensor inside of the little cabin air temp housing? Or is that some fluff I should remove? It looks like it could be there as a little filter but Im unsure.
