  • Will I need a FPR?

hey guys just wanting to know, i have 550cc injectors and a 255 lph walbro fuel pump that are waiting to be installed, and i am wondering if i get a nistune daughterboard (which i am planning on doing) will i still need a fuel pressure regulator?

You won't need a fpr for that set up, the oem unit will easily flow enough to max those injectors out

safe to go with a NISMO or TOMEI unit that is bolt-on so you can adjust fuel pressure if needed.

      Stock fpr doesn't like 255LPH.

thanks for the advice, but what i am wondering is if i get nistune will i not be able to adjust the fuel pressure using the nistune system? or will i still need a FPR

ECU has nothing to do with fuel pressure. Thats controlled by the regulator. Its mechanical.

so i had a fuel pressure regulator and it crapped out. put stock one back in.

i have 255lph fuel pump and 550cc injectors waiting to go in. will i need an fpr?

i was looking at the stock looking adjustable fpr. but then i would need a gauge right? or else how would i know what the pressure is?

It's best to check FPR (pull vacuum hose off FPR and see if fuel pressure rises 7.1psi or so) and upgrade if necessary. Nothing last's forever.

Check fuel pressure via fuel pressure gauge that's plumbed in between fuel filter, fuelrail. I think fuel pressure is around 35.5psi for RB20DET at idle with vacuum hose connected.

Can fit a aftermarket fuel pressure gauge in cabin with sender in engine bay.

Nismo sell a adjustable FPR to raise fuel pressure and I think damper FPR to match.

There is a stock fuel Pressure gauge????

Should I be ok though. If my stock Fpr is working good?

Hoping to get it tuned as soon as I find injector pigtails

No. Aftermarket fuel pressure gauge (electronic) + sender plumbed into fuel line.

Yes. But FPR is getting old and on some cars it fails.

Quick easy thing is get a aeromotive fpr. I have one and it says it on the gauge stuck to the fpr. Now if you are wanting to know your fuel pressure on a regular basis I would suggest simply buying a gauge and monitoring it that way.
