Hey guys whats up. I think my turbo is about to give up on me. I have the original rb20 turbo in my gts-t and it has 150k Km's on it. I got the car tuned a week ago and here mis what happens. When the turbo starts compressing i hear a loud noise coming from the passenger side of the car as if my turbo's shaft play was huge. the thing is: It doesnt puff oil, makes no noise while daily driving or at idle, and when i go full throttle doesnt even lack boost. Only makes a real loud noise. I cant say if its grinding or what ever i dont know enough about turbos to tell. one funny thing is that if i go full throttle and the road has a imperfection on it, when i hit it i hear the noise or once in a while on a flat road too. If ever you guys think its the turbo, would you fit back a rebuilt rb20 turbo in it or put a rb25?
My setup is pretty basic:
Fmic
3inch exhaust
walbro fuel pump
Fuel pressure regulator
Do rb25 turbos require a new tuning when installed?
thanks guys.
