Help me electrical gurus!
I picked up a new STRI oil pressure gauge and decided to install it today. 4 wires, spliced 2 of them into my turbo timer harness since it was close by. Connected the battery and found that every warning light on the dash and my turbo timer came on even though the key was off and out of the car. They only come on with the key set to on usually. So here's how I had hooked it up.
I have an hks turbo timer.
The red wire in the turbo timer harness was hot at all times so I hooked up the constant 12 v wire to that.
The green wire in the turbo timer harness was hot with key on so I hooked up the ignition wire from the gauge to that.
The backlight and ground wires I hooked up to previously used wires from another gauge.
So any ideas what's wrong here?
