    Definately not
Under any heat or boost that will break
I have one of the best quality low end manifolds if that makes sense. STEC are 304 stainless steel, Greddy copy which I modified the waste gate runner. I only went with stec because many rb's in Japan have had success with them. Still made in china but better quality. Manifold should be your most expensive purchase.
And all of my parts are listed in the YouTube info

A lot of my parts came from Angel at KOE Motorsports in Orlando
Tons of knowledge on rb motors, competitive prices and he ships it directly so no fees. Some parts from Adam at feast and other parts from members of the forum

That's kinda strange. Unless they are focusing on rb26 stuff.... Weird
If you want to go cheap, check our ISIS
          (insert forum comments here)
They are one of the better quality replica companies.
Knew a guy with their intake manifold which saw 28psi and 650 HP daily. Great seal with a golf gasket
I'm sure their top mount manifolds look similar to eBay coppies and most likely are similar
Godspeed also does decent stuff. For your goals, Isis and Godspeed will get you there
Waste gate is key. I had an eBay one and after two months spent $500 on a 60mm turbosmart and re tune
Made 30 more rwhp, held boost better, less of a big curve on the dyno and generally improved how the car felt
For daily use, you can get away with a lower end intake / turbo manifold
But please spend the $ on a better turbo, engine software (nistune works but I went with a full standalone)
Nothing wrong with a holset, it will do the job

thanks for all the info dude, really appreciate it

so you mean spend the money on the turbo meaning buy a legit genuine one not a copy one, I'm guessing anything from China/Japan is knockoff, the ones mostly from the united states are good hopefully? Is there a way to know if it's genuine or a knock off , cuz I search ebay for holset hx40's and not a whole lot come up, a few do but as many as i would have thought

what would i be looking at for a good one? 400-500 range?

Manifolds from japan are definitely not knockoffs. Not if there from an actual tuning company. If anything there way better.

usually lots of holsets floating around ebay. Or what i did when i bought my hx35 i registered on a few cummins forums, Tonnes to choose from on there. Being a used turbo i would take it apart regarless throw some new bearings and clean it all up before using it. Make sure all the fins are in perfect shape etc.

should I bother buying used? or should I skip those headaches and buy brand new?

new hx40 will run you between 800-1500 bucks depending what you find where, A used one you can usually pickup between 300-500 bucks shipped, You can buy a rebuild kit to throw in it off ebay for 80 bucks shipped. I would go used. As long as the wheels are in perfect shape your set

is it difficult to throw the rebuild kit in it? or would i have to take it to a turbo shop or something to do it?

for injectors with the new manifold i'll need top feed right?

                            this rebuild kit?

                            with this turbo?

Well when i had to do mine i took it apart, took the wheels to a turbo shop, had them cleaned up and balanced and then put it back together myself. Wasn't hard at all just need a very small set of c-clip pliers. You can find lots of how to guides on google on rebuilding journal bearing turbos, just make sure you mark everything so it all goes back together exactly the same way it comes apart. Thats the key to maintain balance.

You don't have to go top feed if your able to find side feed injectors. I converted mine using this godspeed kit. Worked awesome just had to get some fatter o-rings for the injectors to seal properly

Yup that rebuild kit is perfect and turbo looks just fine. Just make sure the fins are all in one piece before you buy. I've heard of guys having broken fins when taken off the diesel engine. If your fins are broken its very very expensive to replace with new ones. Have the guy take it apart and send you pics to varify the condition then you should be good to go
