  • car wont start, usually only in the morning...

what do you guys think the problem is?,
since i got a different cas the dieing problem stopped, now its just that it wont start sometimes for the past few days, usually after night (leaving it for a few hrs or more) and now it just wont start period for the past 2 days
ive been doing the testing cas trick (spinning it by hand with the throttle on and key on) and there is fuel and spark sometimes, there is just fuel sometimes, and there is nothiing sometimes, lol funn eh?
after it starts giving fuel and spark i quickly put the cas back and it will start and run fine untill next time it tries the funny **** again...
i rewired power and ground to the cas (and anything else that uses the same power/ground wires since i just tapped into them) didnt help, i ohmed out the cas signal wires to the ecu and they came up fine, ive cleaned almost every valve/sensor in the past few weeks because of other random problems that are now fixed/gone away
last time it was running i had my consult cable connected and all the sensors seemed to be reading properly, (temp, throttle pos, aac valve, rpm, injector duty, O2, MAF)
thx for the help guys, this is driving me insane

your spark plugs might be too ''hot''
get colder grade lugs, it should fix it

ive had the same plugs for the last 6 months (BKR7E) they look like they're burning properly, and like i said in the op, sometimes spark and fuel, sometimes no spark, sometimes neither...

Seems like a electrical issue if sometimes you get fuel but no spark, then sometimes both. Maybe your chassis ground is really corroded? You can try to swap out your ignitor pack, ecu, and cas with another r32 gts, I think theres a few guys in your area. Hope you figure it out.

Sounds like failing fuelpump or fuelpump wiring. Also check fuelfilter, etc (check fuelpressure).

tried a diff ingniter, new fuel pump/filter and i know the fuel supply is good cause i can hear the fuel running thru the fuel rail, when i say there is fuel sometimes i mean i can hear the injectors ticking sometimes,
i cleaned (sanded) the engine harness grounds that bolt on the intake runner and the main chassis/engine ground and the ignition harness ground, is there any other grounds that i should check???
ill be trying a different cas and ecu tonight

If its still doing it after trying the cas and ecu, if the starter motor is good, then I dunno.

I had a similar issue with my coil harness. Got to remember the wiring is 20 years old, it's gonna be on its last leg. I had to rewire my 89 GTST for the same problem.

When it comes to wiring it can be from one extreme to an other. I've seen my share of issues (luckily mostly friends cars or clients of my fathers garage) contaminated harness, bad splice, even stuff like loose power wire on the main fuses box.

Identify the problems, pick ONE and work your way back. I have been surprised more then once by perfectly good looking harness on the outside, but because someone at one point decided to check the voltage by picking trough the protective rubber layer opened the door to moisture and in no time nature took her toll, and the wire was so brittle you could snap it in 2.

Had to rewire a couple of wire in the 240sx (TPS, Temp sensor, couple of others, essentially the harness for the top of the engine was contaminated). I would start the car, and just by pulling on the harness the car would rev up and down a little.

Glad you found the problem, and like nimblestix said it would be nice if you could say in which harness and what wires where causing you problem, since other might have to deal with similar problem eventually.
