The coilpacks in s1 have 2 wires each into them and have 4 bolt holes for mounting, s2 have 3 wires each and have only 3 bolt holes. -and no igniter as mentioned above
They switched from s1 to s2 part way through 1995

On series 2 R33 RB25DET they moved the ignitors from ignition module on back of engine to inside each coilpack. They did this, so can shut each coilpack off individually via ECU (ECU programming, etc was changed to suit). Same setup was used on R34 NEO RB25DET. The igniton module is still there, but smaller.
Series 1 R33 RB25DET runs same setup as RB20, RB26 (have to remove coilpack cover, etc, unplug each coilpack while engine is running and coilpack that doesn't affect engine = failed or check them on bench via multimeter or coilpack testing machine).
