I had the same issue. I stalled at lights and very rough starts. For me changing the cas fixed my problem. Feel free to check out my thread as I posted my symptoms asking for help. I also found out one of my maf connectors were faulty causing the car to periodically go into limp mode.

Not sure why it does that, have a replacement CAS but haven't found the time to monkey with it yet.

        Jon.
I had issues with my timing bouncing also, it was on an rb20, I traded a dirtbike for this gtst because he couldn't get it to run right, first thing I changed was the cas, ran perfect after that.

Alright well i'll probably try and pick up a CAS sometime soon, in the mean time does anyone know a good place i can get a Vac rebuild kit for a r32 gtst? if im gonna put a bunch of money into this car i want to do it right, so good silicon will be insurance in a sense, and then i can check all my grounds and silly **** like that. coloured hoses would be prefered because then i know what i've changed and haven'tplus it looks a tad sexier then black..

Hmmm...must change mine out then (not like its hard). It's weird though, cold to almost warmed up it's perfect, idle is steady as a rock. Once it gets to about 50 degC it bounces from 5 to about 30 deg. As soon as I get off idle (as well as adjusting the TPS to turn off the idle switch in the PFC) it stabilizes, under power, it's fine. As soon as I am back to idle, bouncy, bouncy. It's much worse after sitting and heat soaking for a bit.

You can use propane to hunt for vacuum leaks, idle will rise. My car idles perfect when cold but hesitates a bit when warmed up. Does not stall like yours. Your problem is worse than mine but I might be headed in the same direction. I have also cleaned IACV, new coilpacks, plugs, coil pack harness, series 2 Z32 igniter. Z32 maf is used but works fine under all loads, just idle hunting after warm. Hope I am not hijacking your thread but I am still looking for a smooth idle. My AFR's do not even move much when engine hesitates. I have also gone through all my clamps on piping. I will try another CAS if it will help but a new one is pricey. If you get anywhere let us know.

Faulty CAS can pull ignition timing 1-2 degrees or so. I found after changing CAS on my car that engine idled smoother. Similar result when unplugging o2 sensor.
