  • injectors for HCR32 need help what to choose

Hi, I'm looking to buy some injectors for my skyline Gts-t r32.

I wonder which one I should get ?
550cc, 650cc or 800cc, they are all at the same price.

    is the 800cc better than 550cc ?
is the 800cc better for reliability
the car setup : upgraded fuel pump, upgraded turbo (hks gt-rs) and poncam.

    thank you

hmm... well the more CC the more fuel gets squirted in... it all depends on what kind of power you want.

if you are aiming for 300-350 then having 800 CC injectors is pointless and is a tuning nightmare... trying to control such high CC injectors and keeping the air fuel ratio proper is hard. get injectors suited to your build and the power you want to make. Personally 500CC is more then enough for a GTST rb 20... i myself am going to be using GTR injectors which area 450ish which are good for about 350-400HP

    hope this helped

if he gets those, just an FYI you will need a resistor pack to raises the impedence... GTST is high, GTR is low.

yeah probably around 300-350 maybe more but not much more.

so 550cc is easier to tune if I have about 350 hp ?

yes. there is a bunch of mumbo jumbo that goes into tuning, has to do with the amount the injectors stay open while quirting in fuel... the higher the CC the more it injects per cycle. so if you are only trying to do 350 you have to make the injector open/close faster and can make it hard to tune

            hope this is making sense

higher cc injectors also require you to maintain high fuel pressure as there will be a tendency for the injector to not atomize the gas as well as the fuel pressure rapidly drops as the injector cycles. If you are aiming for 350hp I would go with the GTR injector 440cc (wire in a 10w 10ohm resistor on the 12v power wire to each injectors, its black/white stripe). As far as tuning imagine you have a 260 cc injector with the ecu tuned to cycle it at 30% at idle. You will be getting about 80 cc flowed at idle. You throw an 800cc injector in there, suddenly you are flowing 240cc of fuel where 80 is needed, 300% to much gas... you would need to tune the 800cc injector to cycle at 10% at idle to compensate, which is were you would need full standalone because reducing your mass air signal that much with piggy back is wayyy out of the question.

very good information, I did not know about all this !

for the gtr injector I'm not trilled to buy used low impedance side feed injectors that need resistor pack. I would prefer to have new top feed injectors with high impedance.

so from what I can see the 550cc would be a good choice ? for let say 350hp ?

My next choice would be re-mand stock rb20 injectors that have been modded to flow 440 cc. Direct fit connector, rail ect. about $300 on ebay.
