      sounds like turbo lag... not a big deal... just taking that amount of time for the turbo's to spool and hit boost... go through the troubleshooting guide above anyways just to make sure...

        Well I'm positive (at least in my case) it's lag now that I've cleaned my MAF. Since doing it though, responce is better and smoother but for sure boost still comes on around 3000rpm's. From that point though yeah she kicks!

          Be thankfull u get it at 3000. I've got a HKS 2535 and i dont get boost till 4,000RPM

            Does anyone know if an ecu reader will pick up an issue like this? I have a very similar issue.

              I had that problem with modified stock BOV, where you come off throttle, then get back on throttle when off boost and it would lag, then car suddenly moves. I changed to Synapse BOV and it just picks up with 0 hesitation.

              Sometimes gasket under stock BOV can be crushed too much thus causing a hard to find airleak hence the lag.

              In some cases it can be due to intercooler is too big (takes longer to fill a bigger size intercooler at lower rpm's), as shown in this link -

              If rev engine higher in lower gear, then punch it, the lag should be less, as shown in above link.
