I could but there's not enough room for me to have 2 cars at my house so I would have to put one in storage which is $150 or something a month plus the storage insurance which I beleive is around $50 or so. Yea I mean it's not alot but a ton of trouble..

My guess is once these guys actually start the process of getting their cars, and see the thing when it arrives...all thoughts of driving it through snow and slush, and SALT (not to mention dodging the dings from salt meteors and careless drivers) these silly thoughts will evaporate like the morning mist on a spring meadow (which is the exact season when they will take their cars out of storage).
They're not expensive cars but they are hard to replace. Swallow your pride; buy a bus pass! (or keep the FF studentmobile)

I guess that is an option but like I stated in my post the GTR may be my only car......if not that is cool with me....the POS Grand MA will be a great winter car. HOWEVER the GTR does jave AWD and if you have good (see studded) snow tires and some steelies then you should be ok. Just don't drive like an ass and if there is a shAt load of snow then don't go out.

Beaters are cheap. Probably cheaper than fixing a Skyline in the middle of winter because some clown with all-seasons on his Cavalier lost control on the ice and side-swiped you.
Although - since I live out in the country, less traffic - maybe a bit of rally action is called forOn second thought that would be a tad scary with a high-powered RWD car!

Storage is a bitch, it's hard to find, and it's expensive.
I don't have any more room for any other cars at my house. We currently have 3, and will have 4 (one for my brother) for a house with a 2 door garage. Parking on sidestreet = no no, and I don't want to park the GTR outside.
Oh, it's also not a money issue to BUY a beater, I could afford one, but why would I want one? The beater will probally be 2WD, and not as good as my Spec V in the winter, nor as fun to drive. So I'd rather keep the spec v (a mans gotta have standards somewhere)
But the GTR is probally better in the snow than the Spec, I mean it has AWD, that's an advantage right there. Just don't drive stupid.
Then insurance will be $4000/yr for 2 cars. Plus school, and other things, that gets expensive. Storage insurance is like 50 dollars a month, plus having to store it is like 100 dollars a amonth, hell that's just like normal insurance againThen by the time I get my GTR the Warrenty on the Spec V will soon be gone...and having to pay for maintance on two cars gets pricey.
Plus, if some stupid kid in his cavy hits the GTR, insurance will cover it, and what ever they don't I'll make him bleed for it
That's what I've decided. I see no real problems with driving a GTR in snowTuning the Spec V until I can own a V Spec...

No, driving it should be no problem. There's a good clip on http://www.gtrcentral.com of a snow race involving an STi, an Evo, and an R34 GT-R - the Sti gallops off into the distance but the GT-R keeps up with the Evo just fine(at least that's how I remember it, maybe it was the Evo that took off? must d/l it again)

4WD isnt that great a reason to drive your GTR in the winter, in some cases it's actually worst then a RWD or FF vehicle. (Having 4 drive wheels as oppose to 2, good for traction and take off but what about stopping?)
There has to be some kind of alternative to driving your cars in the winter.
Some times people in the country side will rent out space in barns etc for vehicle storage, you might want to consider your options and look around.
beaters are a dime a dozen, and keeping another car on storage is pretty cheap. If I had a GTR I wouldn't drive it in the winter. Remember, it's better a domestic beater then an exspensive import.

Or you could leave it @ SG in the winter while we tune it!hehe...
I would never take the GTR in the snow - she is not a snow bunny like the WRX/STi is...
Hell, if I gotta sleep outside and give my room up for the GTR I will... she will be my wife - no joke... and to da ladies - forget it... take the bus, I ain't pick'n you up!

I love Skyline's but they're cars, whats the point of owning it if ya aint gonna drive it? Those of you with motorcycles already know the pain that comes with only being able to ride 'em 6 months out of the year. Theres no way I could stand having a bike AND a Skyline that I couldn't use for half the damn year.Chris
