    track day would ROCK!

I vote for calgary simply because I dont like edmonton (sorry guys) and calgary is close enough I could fall out of bed and be there.

A western meet would be great! I'd love to meet the guys I've been learning from and helping out on GTRC.

Tagging onto a larger event makes a bunch of sense as many activities are already organized. Dont' think anyone mentioned the Edmonton Grand Prix as an anchor event, but as I write this, I'm thinking it's not the best fit. If you're going to spend the cash to attend this one, you want to focus on it.
Driven to perform might be a better fit. From what Dr. GTR told me, last year's event would have benefited from having a bunch of us out there with cool cars and, well, the drive to perform, and it would have been easy to slot a few GTRC-specific events without missing much action.

Track time would make this an event to remember. Doesn't matter if you decide to run or watch, you'll have a blast. Given that baseline, we need to decide what level of racing we're looking for. Edmonton doesn't have a road track - we'd need to rent an airport and set up an auto slalom course. Although that's a ton of fun, Race City would offer a higher end experience. Cost would be higher and fewer guys would probably be up for lapping at that level. Just a choice.

I want to see this happen in Edmonton or Calgary. Both are great cities and have a lot to offer. Upon reflection, Calgary's proximity to the Rockies provides fantastic opportunity for a one hour cruise to some of the best scenery on planet Earth, a decent road track, and a great backdrop for a national meet. I think that'd be the best bet.

      Let's make it happen guys!

I like the idea of a track day at race city but we should also try to make this meet an important one seeing as the whole law change thing and all. We should try and create a positive look towards our cars and our community. I think a show of some sort would be of great benifit to us were we could have alot of skylines from all over and send a message out there to people to help us try to stop the 15 to 25 year change. I mean be the time this could happen it might be to late for us. We could make some sort of S.O.S thing meaning Save Our Skylines or something at a show and have people sign a petition to help us out and save our dream.

id love to take part in a skymeet, but its pointless to discuss weather to choose calgary or vancouver cuz all us west coasters will say van and all the others westerners would say calgary, personally itd be a hassle for me to go o calgary, vancouver id make easy, either way ill try to make it whereever we have it

would this be a full canada meet? because honestly to bring everyone in why not run something like in winnipeg? its right in the middle of vancouver to toronto, but it would be a long drive for alot of people, once i finally snatch up a skyline i'll be down for going anywhere i think...but a track day would be an awsome idea.

As it stands right now, there's going to be a western and an eastern meet. So potentially 2 meets.

One deciding factor as to where to hold them is who wants to step up to the plate and organize it, and what is concvenient to the majority of the committed participants. Having it in Wiinipeg will likely not happen as its inconvenient for just about EVERYONE (sorry).

This would be a fun road trip to an awesome car show, we could drive down on the Friday really early get to a hotel then have the show on Saturday which is 5pm-midnight. Then have sunday to drive back. But thats just an idea but also would be really fun even though its kinda far. As for the car show I dont know if GTRC could enter cause I dont know if they are booked up or not it would have to be looked into. But it would be good exposer for us if we could get in!

I like this idea. 8) It would be lots of fun to cause a ruckus with a bunch a Skylines in Seatle. These cars draw lots of attention down there 8)If there were enough people we would have to come to a descision soon to make sure we could get in the show.
