I'd like to make an open comment as a GTRC member.
GTRC has always been a great place where people can gather to discuss Skylines, as well as other cars, in a constructive and positive environment.
I believe that GTRC is one of the best online automotive forums in the world, which is a result of the combination of an excellent administration, and of a great pool of members. GTRC members have formed a tight community where we can discuss our cars, diagnose problems, buy and sell parts, and improve our vehicle enjoyment through meets and photoshoots. GTRC also serves as a massive information database for not only GTRC members, but all Skyline owners in the world as well.
Many other forums that I have been a part of are plagued with arguments, flaming, confrontational attitudes and e-thugs. This leads to an uninformative, negative community which benefits no one.
Being a GTRC member for the past 5 years, I have learned many things about my car through the various posts and threads. I've received help from many people, and feel that I have also returned the favour to many as well. I've always enjoyed the positive atmosphere, and even if I sold my GT-R I'd still want to be part of GTRC. I can honestly say that GTRC has improved the quality of my GT-R ownership and I think it has done so for many other members as well.
That said, I think that we should take a moment to remind ourselves what GTRC is about.
Recently I have seen a lot of unnecessary negative comments, confrontational attitudes, flaming, ridiculing, and arguing.
Let's try to remember that these things are not a part of the GTRC community, and keep negativity off the board.
If there is a specific problem with a member, remember that a PM is also a very good tool to convey a message, without cluttering up the board with nonsense.
Lets keep the high quality of this forum preserved, and remember to check our egos at the door.
Here's to a great finish to the last half of summer!
