Meh, RE01R's (RE11s now) for the win. Tirerack is great until you blow a tire or pop one. Then you gotta pay...Black 1991 GTR. Serious garage stand mantle/parts car.

no custom and brokeage? you know hidden fees like UPS.Originally posted by BlackAuraI think I saved at least $200 buying from Tirerack.
If I remember right, where I checked in Calgary: approx $300 per tire, so $1200 for the set, plus tax.
Tirerack.com: $950 final Canadian cost, shipped to door.
For Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's.
So far...really liking them, but I've only driven my car for 4 days or so on them.Need detailing done to your car? I'm open to travel to detail your car :

tirerack include all the fees in their price
so i you live in the US, its probably 750$ a set,
but for canadian customers, they charge extra shipping, brokaege, customs fee, taxes, etc etc, so then it costs 950$
thats why if you live near the border, its a really good idea to have your tires shipping to a warehouse or garage in the US, drive they to pick them up, cross the border back, pay only GST taxes, and voilą,
so the US price is 750, + ~30$ shipping + ~60$ taxes, full price is under 850$, much much lower than anywhere in canada

I noticed you are in Toronto? Check out your local store simplytire.com. I have bought few things from them at good price before. Or I could get you any tires from my store, but shipping could be costly however may still be alot cheaper.'94 White Nissan Skyline R33 - HKS Tuned.. (SOLD)

When you cross the border Custom Canada is suppose to collect all the taxes (GST + PST), tariffs and recycle fees so the only difference is the shipping price to Canada. Since Tirerack now doesn't charge brokerage fee any more (well, I think it is hidden in the shipping charge) you're just paying more for the shipping to Canada Vs US. If the border is real busy you might get lucky and get waved through, and that's what happened to my friend the last time the $ was high. He bought a set of tires and whole lot of stuff from US on a day trip and declared everything at the booth. He said the officer just looked at his screen and then thanked him and told him to proceed.Originally posted by frankiman View Posttirerack include all the fees in their price

PS
If you are not to particular and want a good deal from Canada check out carmodifier.com. Yokahama has a new all season high performance tire called "AVID ENVIGOR" that just came out in March. I was going to order a set but I'm waiting for 1010tires to list them so I can compare prices.

I have a friend who owns a tire business out of his garage but he won't sell or tough low profile cause they're annoying and the machines are expensive, plus I live in a truck town and cadillacs with 24" rims lol.
$300 to install tires??? Are you serious??? That is by no means cheap man.
