I just realized the R34 becomes legal almost exactly a week before the GTRC 10 year anniversary. Time to plan ahead for a club project car

I'm gonna wait another year or two after that if I'm still in the market for skylines.

I wonder if buying the car now and storing it til 2013 is a viable option. It would sure save you from most of the inflation that will happen, and you'll have quite a bit of time to locate one that suits your desires.Victory is on the horizon..

I don't even want to know how much 3 years of indoor storage costs in japan.
personally I want to buy a stagea and swap the R34 front end onto it for a daily, or would, if my F250 wasn't so damn handy.
I do know that if I can buy a used ZR-1 in 2014 for less than a used R34, I'm getting the ZR-1 any day.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag

Lets not forget about the risk of having a car stored half way across the world for that amount of time too.
I would think some spot would be prone to theft and vandalism, like any where else in the world.
Would really suck if something happen and you didn't have proper coverage for it.
And thums up to all those who said that we have some anal owner's with nice GTR. lol Being 1 of them.
I'm suprise no one talked about all the GTR that have been stored away. (because of blown engine over the years lol)
But if it would really be 50-60k, I say there would be to many cars in the price range to just stop at the R34.
Just to name a few: R35, various Porsche 911, Ferrari (F355, etc..), viper, lotus, even the corvette.
Other factor to consider is :
Subaru STI, Mitsu EVO, Mustang, corvette, a lot more cars that are making about the same amount of
power or more out of the box, and are going to be making even more in 3 years from now.
But what I have to say to be the biggest obstacle in my vue, is how expensive stuff is for this car. I'm actually
considering putting a viper trans in my car for criying out loud. The alternative is more expensive than a new
Kia Lmao. For that amount of money, I can buy a mustang and modify it to run constant low 10 sec pass all day.
That's for the price of a Freaken transmission for the R32, lets not talk about the R35, it makes the Hollinger, HKS, PPG
option for the R32 look kind of cheap.
I guess what I'm saying is people who are going to buy the R34, are going to by it with there heart not there head.
And I'm not saying this is a bad thing at all.
I just think the big player have moved up, look at the power of the GT40, Viper, Supra (2JZ GTE great engine),
Gallardo, when modded, they are doing crazy numbers. Thing is even with crazy number a lot of those car are still drivable.Last edited by collector240sx; 02-12-2011, 02:03 AM.14 VW Jetta TDI
