So a R32/R33 GTR should perform like this with proper Winter tires, and safe driving?

Look how fast he was going on that straight. Can our cars do this or is it the upgraded AWD that is helping the R35?

I'm sure others can chime in by from the looks of it, its a combination of driver/car.

Watching that video my first impression was that the car was way too loose for the conditions. The only segment where the car/driver was doing well was the straight, and notice how little snow is on it. Then I re-started the video and saw that they were testing Blizzack LM-25's, which are more for cold, dry conditions rather than actual snow. Now, if the car was on a set of Nokian Hakka's he'd be smokin!

Winter driving is fine in a Skyline, GTR or GTS, but so much of that comes down to tires, driver discipline and experience. Sorry to sound like a pessimist, but I have no doubt there will be a few "Parting out complete car" FS threads come springtime after owners stuffed their car while being stupid. I just hope they don't hurt/kill anyone (other than themselves) when it happens.

I understand, That's mostly why I would rather not drive the car in the winter. Just in case because anything could happen, and maybe it could be my fault and then they look at RHD and start the Ottawa thing all over again. I was a bit more concerned about other drivers too not paying attention and not reacting quick enough for the slippery conditions.

How different is the AWD system from the R32/33 to the R35? I know they had active LSD's in the R33s. Did they upgrade anything else?

It's usually not YOU driving in the winter. It's the other guy. The other guy that thinks "I have all seasons, I can drive like a maniac all year!" then as you hit the brakes to stop at a red light or a spun out car, idiotstick plows into you going 70 cause his all seasons just slide through the snow. My GTR will never see snow, I will make sure of that :P
