what did you do to get a gts-t down to 1120kg
    Reading!
1320kg is stock - 200 kg goes fast when you add things up.

^ i still don't get how you can ditch 200kg from a gtst.

you need more than just a/c, abs and interior delete to acheive that.

My gtr is stripped and I'm nowhere near loosing 200kg (no interior, ac, stereo, hicas)

Did you actually weigh your car or are you estimating?

you need more than just a/c, abs and interior delete to acheive that.
Absolutely. Interior weight is negligable to a certain degree, your biggest hinderence on the interior is your sound deadening. Sound deadening isn't your carpet fuzzy's either, its almost like a rock guard they spray on the surface of the metal to provide a sort of insulation.. That in itself when removed from the front driver/passenger/rear pass and other was a good hunk of weight - somewhere around the 100-150 lbs mark, and thats no stipulation or exaggeration, i physically weighed it after only because i was so shocked at how much it weighed.
Hicas lines, pump, solenoid and etc give you another 55 lbs if i remember correctly..
Also, i took into account parts that were exchanged such as stock brake lines and fittings, as well as brackets and bolts i ditched when putting stainless lines in place. Removed a lot of dead weight on mounts and brackets by removing them entirely, or replacing them with fabbed aluminum or carbon fibre brackets (Intercooler mounts) and aluminum bolts - Also all accounted for by weight.
          Brake shields..
          Charcoal canister and lines..
All under-carpetting; so the fuzzy's that people think are sound deadening were all packed up and removed, same for trunk - about 15 lbs or so there..
Fender liners and useless front guards (was going to put a carbon diffuser but decided to hold off until i have a proper GTR front end to work with)

I could go on forever.. But the point is i took into account 95% of what i removed, and either contrasted it with the replacement part or just accounted for how much the piece weighed and deducted it from the total.

Did you actually weigh your car or are you estimating?
Yea the car was weighed. If ever you're interested or fortunate to find a guy on a good day, pull into a weight station like a Flying J or road side one. We've got quite a few here since we're located right on the Ontario boarder and on both highways 40 and 20. One guy was nice enough to give my car a weigh, without me in it to give me a rough idea of how much it weighed. From what i remember i deducted, it was about right, give or take a few kg's because we have to remember those weight stations are calibrated for much higher loads.

I have a notebook at work with the accounts of everything - i'll EVENTUALLY turn it into a write up, but for now i like my selfishly light car lol

100-150lb is an extremly high estimate of the sound deadening. I removed mine and it wasn't nearly that heavy, I've also removed charcoal canister, converted to single turbo. I'm pretty much as light as you can make gtr before buying lightweight doors, glass and starting to hack the chassis apart (next step)

I don't know about ontario but here in western canada (bc and alberta at least) you can pull up to scale with nobody is there. Weigh your car with or without yourself and carry on. I've done after multiple stages of the car.

Really?? You have to go inside the station to see what the scale reads at the ones around here.. That definitely makes it a lot easier

I'll dig up my notes but as far as i remember the sound deadening was leaning more towards 150 lbs in my situation. You can definitely make a GTR lighter by removing rebar or drilling large diameter holes in it, as well as in the chassis as you're probably going to do next. You can get around the rebar and remove it entirely (front and back).. The rear is my next one to tackle, or i may leave it and just drill the tits out of it for liability issues in the event of an accident... Wheel weight which lends itself to unsprung weight is a good guy too.. I'm running on the stock GTR rims which are about as light as i can justify before spending 5000 on a set of wheels.. Tires are a bit heavier than i would hope for (RT615k's) but not the worst i guess..

                  true.

one reason why I didn't remove sound deadening is because it isn't worth the minimal weight loss for my uses.

I have removed so much from my car (full AC, HICAS, stock suspension parts, gts steel body parts and heavy stock engine parts [exhaust, manifolds, etc) but added on some heavier parts like some suspension parts and some engine parts (top mount turbo, rad, FMIC, etc)

I honestly think my car lost 150 lbs at the MOST.

I don't think you save much weight on a gtr with carbon hood/fenders/trunk (the wing is a tank though) as they are aluminum already. You can shave 80lbs from doors and glass.

I guess on a gts-t you can loose a lot of weight on the hood/fenders/trunk as I believe they are steel. I'm not sure so maybe someone can confirm.

the gtr trunk are steel but don't weight that much either. I saved maybe 10Ib MAX from the body panel..

GTS one are steel but you still dont save much from going cf. Maybe 30Ib. 200kg is 440Ib..

                        wow

ok people....cant we all get along..lol hahahah
gts,gtr all the same s*%t in the end.rb26 formed off the rb20 .only reason they ever went with the gtr was the grip they got from 4wheel drive.twins turbos and .6 displacment was added to make up for weight.really there all skylines.they all handle well and go like snot.
how big your wallet is and how much of the money will you get back when your done with the car is up to the guy or girl buying the car.
if you gts haters had all of us gts guys leave your form there wouldnt be much going on here.so in saying that lets try to make a strong skyline comunity and not a gts vs gtr civil war/
                        sabotage out! lol

                          Go start gtstcanada.com
We won't miss you. Your lucky you even get your own section on a website for gtr's

of course I'm kidding. I really think the gts-t has a place as a cost friendly alternative to the gtr. It's obviously not going to match it with equivalent mods, but; it is much much cheaper to maintain and buy.

1160kg is about right for GTS in racetrim (without carbon doors, etc) and with rollcage, oilcoolers, etc. GTR is around 1280kg with rollcage, oilcoolers, etc. GTS can get down to around 1000kg with stripping everything and have just basic shell, steering wheel, seat, etc.

That's with sound deadening under car (not often removed on road cars, at least 15kg+ worth when you add underbody, arches x4 together), inside cabin, truck, etc (another 15kg+) removed, guard liners removed. The body was painted. This is how it was done on my mates GTR racecar.

Doors are around 35kg each. Can get them down to around 7.1kg with drycarbon doors, Lexan windows.

                            Spare wheel is 15kg.

GTS wheels are heavier, somewhere around 15kg.

Titanium exhaust is 4kg vs around 24-26kg for factory exhaust.

Carbon propshaft is another area to save weight.

Can shed alot of weight if you know where to shed it.
