i always get the typical questions, is that a skyline?is it fast? cant that make like a thousand horsepower? how much did it cost?why is it RHD? in that order or similar orders to that.
What never gets old is the young sunfire/cavalier ecotech owners. They think there fast and will try to race at any given chance. The first day i got my GTR a year and a half ago i was driving down highway 1 and i stopped beside the typical sunfire(bodykit, blingin rims and what must have been a 4 inch exhaust tip). The guy rolls his window down and asks to race.I tell him no becuase i havent changed my timing belt yet. He proceeded to coax me to race.Racing off from the light squealing his little tires, as i come up beside him he speeds up and slows down repeatedly dropping the clucth each time. At this point im annoyed so i down shift and blow past him with a nice fireball to go with it and hauled ass to the next light. I sat waiting for him to catch up to the next light when he stops all he says is "whoa those are fast!" i replied "it a skyline NO ****"

favorite thing to say to a Honda Owner "the highest performance thing from a Honda are the headlights i put on my car"

The other night i was pulled up to a self serve fuel pump, starting fueling p and the 16yr old full serve monkey came out doing the whole amazment factor asking the hundred questions. BUT, it wasnt till i got inside the store when he starting talking about "yeah, i wanna get a kit for my accord, but not sure cause i wanna sell the 4door and get a 2 door" OMG it was so hard not to laugh right in his face. Then after he stopped being stupid, the women behind the counter started in with admiration, which wasnt a big deal untill she said " I know how you feel in that car, my husband and i did the mid-life crisis thing and got a SPORTS car!!" I nicely replied, " oh right on, what kind of car" i nearly fell on the floor laughing when she said "a 2002 Neon" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA she then carried on about how fast it is and how her husband wants to buy stuff on ebay, i finally had to say sorry gotta go.

i couldnt stop laughing to myself for a good solid hour.

i had something similar happen last meet on my way home,some kid said wow a skyline i want one and how he could get one for 4-5 grand and as we all know what youll get for a 4-5 k gtst,
haha southie thats funny accord and a neon i would have spilt my coffee right from lauging so hard

but ive also had a kid who was i guess 12 or 13 say nice car i said thanks its skyline and the kid said
yea i know and knew a bit about them i was impressed

After having it on the road for a while the #1 question i get

How much did you pay for it.

to which I replied 66,000 dollars
then they say pfft my friend has these in the back of his shop selling for 2,000 MAX! lol

Ive had kids in the back of cars give me thumbs up, started talking to this one guy at a light about a jaguar he used to own that was RHD, and the best has to be one guy at the sunoco after filling up runs inside yells out WHOZ SKYLINE IS THAT!. and panting and yelling I say mine, he goes OMGZ DAS DA SIKEST TING IVE EVA SEEN ! I say thanks and he shows me his car an accord with a R33 back end GTR badge and all and he looks at me and says one day Ill save up the the GTR "V6" twin turbo and make it a real GTR, then i laughed and walked away and went LOL

I hate when people act like newbs and pretend like their GTR is "soooo much better" than a GTS4 (or even GTST).

I have shown it before, and I will show it again. What do you have over my gts4? about 60 whp!!!!

I have the same AWD, I have the same Suspension.

What do I not have??

2 doors, wide body, a boost gauge, 4 passengers, orange corner lights.....

Sounds like ALL RICE MODS to me!! What do you have for performance over me? Again, just 60 whp.

What does it take to make my gts4 as fast as a stock gtr? About $1000. What did it cost me for my GTS4? $7500 so far. WHat is a GTR worth? More than $7500 thats for sure!

So while I have fun ripping up the track with my gts4, you can worry about spinning your bearing at high rpm and not affording to fix it


lets end this whole "high and mighty because I own a gtr attitude". Your not better than ANYBODY because you have a GTR. It certainly does not make you more of a man.

I bought a GTS4 because of what I needed (4 doors, awd, cheap, and reliable). I certainly did NOT "not" buy a GTR because I could not afford it!!

These cars are expensive because of how much they can take, and their potential output.

Any car has any potential if you spend the money. I picked up the GTR just because it was my dream car and it's what I wanted. The gts-4 has a ton of similarities to the GTR. The versatility of the 4 doors would sure be nice from time to time as well. Luckily I have a minivan as well for people hauling and I use the GTR fora daily driver fun car for myself.

I hate to see the elitism of some GTR owners the car doesn't make you better than anyone so stop acting like it. I also hate to see GTS-T/4 owners tear down the GTR trying to make it look bad to feel better about themselves or their cars. We all drive Skylines so let's not turn another thread into GTS-T or 4 vs. GTR.

While I'm not trying to say a Neon is what i would consider a sports car - Dodge did offer an SRT-4 Turbocharged Neon in 2002 outputting 215hp to the front wheels on a 4 banger.

lol these are all good stories....I have a couple...
1) I was on the way to work one night where I was stopped at a stop light, and an old beater ford tempo pulls up beside me with 4+ passengers where I hear them starting to shout things and taunt me....then I hear "he's got a skyline!!" I just keep my eyes on the light, and wait for it to go green, and they dart off....I laugh and carry on at my own pace.


2) I was in tim hortons one summers afternoon ordering lunch, and I hear a young lad talking about my car and to his little brother to look at the skyline....rambling on hes saying that it's a THREE FOUR, and I chuckle and look over to the kid and say that it's a 32. and then he goes on giving me compliments for my car which is cool I guess..


I get the usual looks and people wanting to race...lots of trucks and ricer civics.

the srt4 deserves a lot more credit than it is given. whats wrong with the fact that its based off a neon? its a really nice car! i actualy was about to buy one before i got my gtr but they are also double the price of a GTR. unless your one of those people still paying over 20 grand for one in which case i just feel sorry for you. i was one of the few people lucky enough to get a ride in the passanger seat of a srt4 by a factory employee and holy hell did that thing move good for a neon.
i havnt had many noob questions with my car so far. just MANY MANY compliments and the typical "how much did it cost? whats it like driving on the right hand side?" ones but to tell you the truth, if i was your average person who didnt know anything about JDM cars (basicly me 8 months ago) id be asking the exact same questions...and i used to lol. so give these people a little more respect. i honestly laugh at some of you guys cuz of how cocky you are when it comes to people who arnt quite as educated. if they are being cocky, go ahead and return the favor. but if all of your stories are true, some of you have a LOT of growing up to do.

i was hauling four hot/gorgeous women last night. it was a long drive and pretty much had the same thing happen to me more than 10 times throughout the night. since it was saturday a lot of cars loaded with guys out to party would pull up to the gtr then start to speed off trying to start a race. then they'd realize what they just saw then start to slow down a lot til they're beside my car and at that point i just speed up a little bit to pass them and they would always have this look on their face --->

haha do i have one of THE best stories ever... i just recently got my 180 back from the shop and on my way back home with it a tiburon pulls up beside me with 2 guys driving and what i think was their girlfriends in the back... as i come down the whitemud the edge and edge and edge trying to get me to race... now its winter here, roads we horrible, and i just wasnt up to it... so anyways TRYING to show off to the girlfriends the guy tears off, loses traction, and puts his car into a lightpole... i could not help but laugh my ass off for a good 15 mins after it happened... i couldnt believe the tool did that... they got out of the car and they were so pissed...
