So some friends and I were practicing wide angle control in an abandoned parking lot yesterday night. Drifty, drifto, drift... For about an hour and a half. Than another guy shows up, with his exhaust cut off on his bmw... It's SO loud that we pack it in to leave. Guess what? The stupid loud exhaust attracted the attention of the police 3 blocks away. lol!

... That isn't the noob part of the story. This is: The officer accused everyone of drifting, than proceeded to check the tread wear on all the FRONT tires!! :hit_head:

0 tickets... for us. Nasty tickets for beamer dude... :-P

I find honesty, and logic is a good way to defend yourself from the law.

Officer: "Why would you think it's a good idea to 'drift' in this lot?"

My Buddy K: "It's disused, and it isn't on the street"

Officer: "...Good point. You're free to go, but don't do it again or I'll seize your car." *walks away*

So I pull into the Nissan dealership to get a quote on some 300zx brake pads and one of the salesmen from the group starts with the usual...

Him: "Hey, you're driving on the wrong side"
Me: Usual response of, "Technically I'm on the right side" and then I threw out "You should know what it is considering it's one of yours"
Him: "Oh, you brought a Nissan from Europe?"
His co-worker: "Shut up before you embarrass all of us"

I mean seriously!! How can you work at Nissan at not know what a skyline is?? Especially now that the GTR is out! I mean ****, learn some history about what you're selling!!

heres a few things before you guys read my story. for those that dont know about commerce gate, its basically THE car hangout in my area at least it used to be. at any given night you would see nsx's, skylines, a shitload of sti's, even supra's, evo's, porche's etc... theres even a few lambos and lotus that drop by every now and then.

i got a good storie for you guys. so i go to commerce gate after not going there for a long ass time. i have this friend that everyone nicknamed "bait" for a very good reason that loves my car so much she always ask me for the key so that she could keep it while im there. shes a good friend so i usually let her have the key cuz i trust her. i was in the arcade when i suddenly get a call from her telling me to go to my car cuz she cant open it. apparently there was a group of 10 kids that rolled up in a civic and a corolla that were staring at my car. so she tries to open my car and pretend its hers just for shits and giggles. so i finally go there and let her in the car. then heres come 2 of the kids and starts asking me questions about the car. so i politely answer their questions. then they ask me to pop the hood which i politely replied to "its just stock plus my hood is damaged so i dont open it too much(my hood is actually damaged). they kept bugging me and i just eventually just turned around and started talking to my friends behind me. then they call over their whole crew then this is were it gets really annoying. they kept asking me to race. a stock civic and a stock corolla. i kept saying no its not boosting right now its going to the shop tomorrow. but they still kept on insisting. finally i just ignored them again then the guy parked beside me(a red nsx, not nathan) was about to leave. they start yelling "burn out". this guy leaves the parking lot flooring it in a really tight parking lot with bumps and potholes. finally they get their fix and leave me alone. after me and my friends just shook our heads over what happened.

how does your bov sound? i was thinking going HKS SSQV but i dont like the sound its a little loud.

I live on the border of the USA, so i always gas up over there and buy many parts there as well. So i was picking up an Oil filter from NAPA. When i drove in, the front doors were wide open and i noticed a couple of the guys look out when they hear me drive up. I ask for the filter, and get the ohhh ya, a 300zx.

Then the guy says "looks like it's in good shape"
Me "ya not bad for almost 20years old"
Guy "6 cyl right"
Me "ughh yep" he's still thinking it's a 300zx

I get the filter and walk out. The guy ends up leaving while i'm still sitting in my car. Walks by and i hear him say, "nice colour" to himself.

By now i'm backing up. This is about 15seconds after he walked by the front of me, he comes around the building with this seriously puzzled look on his face. Now i can't explain how small town hillbilly this US town is. They don't even have an Import Car dealer within a 3 hour drive. No idea about JDM cars.

guy "what the heck, i thought i saw you get in that side but i didn't believe it."
Me "i didn't know if you noticed"
Guy "I didn't know 300zx's came like that."
Me "ya it's not like the others" as i drove off.

He just stood there stunned and watched me leave.

i'm not really laughing about him thinking it was a 300zx but more of the outright astonishment he seemed to have. I could have been driving a space ship and i think i would have got the same look. He just didn't understand how it was possible.

how does your bov sound? i was thinking going HKS SSQV but i dont like the sound its a little loud.

I've had both... If you get the ssqv you can get an adapter piece that will give it the greddy "woosh" sound, instead of the high pitch chirp hks sends as their standard sound. Imo, the new ssqv is better.
