It looks fast but my JDM Type R Integra could probably beat it.......... Uh sure thing there hero!

Yo, is that a real skyline?.....Nope Sentra with a GTR RHD conversion.

You got ripped off, I can get a mint one for 15k...... Really, then why are you sitting on the curb bumbing rides in your buddies mom's coralla?

    And my personal Favorite............
My buddies SiR beat some kid in one of these, but he was on the other side of the car...........Translation, your buddy raced some old guy in a stock 240, Jeff Foxworthy Quote: Here's your sign!

My first drive in my newly landed GTR...covered in salt (winter delivery), auction erasible pen marks on the winshield, one dead headlight, and no plates. I drove 2 blocks to the local coin-op car wash.

cav owner: Yo, is that a Skyline?
JZ: ummm....(nervous cuz I shouldn't be on the road with it). No.
cav owner: well what is it then?
JZ: Its an accord with a GTR Battle kit.
      *pause*
cav owner: Sick man, you should show that whip this summer!
      JZ: Thanks!

"Skylines are slow" Me: "You drive a Cavalier."

"How much did you pay?" Me: "Enou.." (Didnt even finish a word) "Well you got ripped off. I can get them for waaay cheaper than that."

"Look at the tiny motor in this thing(To a friend of his)" I lift hood. Me: "Not so small aint it?"

"Is it fast?" Me: "It goes 180." - "KPH or MPH?"

Or the odd comments I overhear.

"Its just a skyline." - Your one to talk. Yours is just a neon.
"Look at the tiny little turbo" - At least I have one.
"That exhaust is small" - You know, because 3.75" is stock on most cars.
"Skylines are expensive" - Maybe if you stop working at burger king, you can afford one.

and remember guys if its rhd it MUST be a skyline, clearly my silvia is now a skyline.

For some reason I haven't had as many ignorant people ask me about the car as you guys have.

I've had 4 seperate people ask me if it was a "conversion".....

Most folks ask me if it's from England or if just ask "Where it's from".

I had a guy in a BEAUTIFUL Porshe 911 Turbo pull over to let me by for some reason ( I wasn't tailing at all ). I guess he just wanted to see the car or something? He gave me the wave and a smile as well .

I usually avoid talking to punk kids about the car as most of them they're are far to annoying for me. (Most not all). The ones that I can tell are genuinley interested and level headed people I'll talk to. If I see kids standing near my car I usually just set off the panic alarm and watch them scatter. I don't take any chances with teenagers, a lot of them (not all) don't have respect for other peoples **** and just enjoy vandalizing it.

I had another guy around my age (22) come talk to me about the car with his GF, he'd never seen one up close I guess and wanted to have a look at it.

Easily the most comment question I've got after that fact that they realize it's a skyline is "What's it like driving on the right hand side?" or "How long did it take you to get used to shifting with your left hand".

I've had a very small amount of stuff like "Aren't those 800HP??". I've never had anyone openly bash my car while I could hear them tho. To those that do, I think they're more jelous than anything. I've taken a few friends for spins that were sort of naysayers when it came to imports, and even they left with a smile on their face and a renewed respect for imports.

I've got a nice simple straight answer to all the "Is it hard driving on the right side?" questions.

All I answer is "Im from Australia". If there then that dumb that they dont realize we drive on the left then i know there not worth the conversation.

About 2 months ago I came home for lunch(I live about 4 blocks from where i worked at the time). When I pulled in, I noticed that a neighbour was having a garage sale. I decided I might as well check it out. When i got over there it was just the "dad" outside. Right as I got to talking to him about some of his stuff, he quickly changed the subject to my car.
The general conversation was a bit longer but it went like this
                            HIM and ME

So, when your driving do you just hope you dont get pulled over or what?
                            What do you mean?
Well, my wife told me cars like yours are illegal here.
Why would it be illegal when its plated and everything
My wife said you cant drive a RHD car in canada, its not even safe.
No I assure you its legal. Ive never even had a cop have a problem with the car once.
Well she knows a lot about stuff like this. Her dad was trying to buy a "mitsobishi" evolution. He couldnt do it because its illegal to have a car that fast here.

Right aboot here I told him I needed to go eat, as it was half hour lunches there. I was just anoyed at peoples general ignorance.
By this time some guy had pulled up in a RUSTED and quite loud(not a good loud) Eagle Summit. Well he must have overheard some of the tail end of our conversaition while he was digging through the Video games(he was a hairy 40+ guy. kinda reminded me of a hobo you would see down on Hastings street..)He ended up saying sumthing to the affect of. "did you know you can get like 700hp without nawz on those things"

kinda long but entertaining to remind myself about the good ole days lol

does anybody notice how arrogant this board can sound at times? this isn't even close to the first thread of bashing people with stupid questions. here's a crazy thought... some people are naturally stupid, they don't get it and never will, lost cause, oh well. other people are just ignorant but wouldn't be if time was taken to fill them in on what they don't know about.

setting off a panic alarm when teenagers are around your car? laughing to yourself because somebody drives a mustang? come on, grow up.

I've had conversations with the all around stupid people (like the guy who's planning on bringing in an R34 through the states so it appears as an American car coming across... riiiiight) all the way to those who have no clue wtf they're talking about but quickly get a lesson in reality VS gran turismo (like the "DUUUDE! THOSE THINGS ARE LIKE 600HP IF YOU HOOK UP A LAPTOP TO THE STOCK COMPUTER!" people).

either way, you guys choose to drive these cars, you know dumb stuff is going to be said... get on with it. I've been pulled over and even had the cop say something to the effect of "you're not as cocky as most of the RHD guys" and I'm a really cocky bastard, that has to be saying something right there.

When i bought my car, i wasn't planning on all the attention and really am not a fan of it. sunglasses, tinted windows and music really helps zone out distractions, some of you should give it a whirl

wow, all of this is so familiar.

i cant count the amount of stupid questions i get. i've gotten the," oh you cant drive that here, its illegal." thing so many times. butr generaly all i get asked is," were is that car from?" witch i dont really see as a stupid question but it does get tiresome answering it so often.

a good story i heard was:

Guy: You wanna know somthing crazy?
                                Me: Shure
Guy: My friend worked at Burger King in Ft.McMurry for one year and made enough money to buy a 2002 Skyline that was all "supped up"
Me: Your an idiot, go away from me.
