At least he's a fan, and knew his stuff about the 15 year rule. I don't see how he's a idiot. I guess you and your sister jumped unto the Nissan bandwagon.

import turner mag says the GTR came from factory with close to 320 hp bone stock. sure a car looses hp over time but what are the odds that the average GTR has under 300? i know mine goes like stink and all its got is intake and exhaust. its gotta be over 300HP.

Being more than 15 years old, there will be some hp loss over time but there's a lot of factors involve. Such as mileage, poor maintenance, constantly running hard, etc. It's very easy to get more power out of the skyline, just depends how fat your wallet is, GTR's were built for Group A racing but had to conform to the gentlemen's agreement.

I guess a lot of this thread boils down to the fact that most people think they know everything, think that everything they hear is true, and in general, really don't want to listen to others.

That said, I woke up a couple weeks ago to have crap (whether human or dog, I am not sure) smeared all over my hood, windshield and caked completely filling in the door handle... for those of you complaining about pizza or coffee, I think I have you beat. I almost vomited the entire time I was cleaning it off. I salute everyone who protects their cars from vandals and theft and feel it is in no way childish to use your alarm to make people back off.

My dad drove home two nights ago just in time to watch a thief drive away with my mom's van. Chased him till he abandoned the car, but despite an early 911 call, no help came. We really have to do what we can to protect our vehicles!

holy shart... thats low. pizza is dumb enough... smearing crap all over somebodys car is bad. smearing crap all over a skyline means a 1 way ticket to hell. if i caught somebody doing that to my car i would probly end up in jail for a long time for my actions. that wouldnt happen in my town and i have a garage anyway (thank God) but im still gettin an alarm. no doubt about it.

When I first got my skyline I was just hanging out in a local BK parking lot with a friend, when this old guy with no shirt on walks up. He looks at my car then looks at me, then back at the car.. then says "why would you pay that much money to convert it to RHD!!?!" then storms off. I just stood there, I didn't know what to say.

Another time I was cruising with my friend, he was in his RSX and I was in my car. We decided to go to wendys and I really didn't feel like going inside to order. So the drive thru was perfectly straight, so I backed through it. When I got to the speaker I could hear the girl yelling to her coworkers 'what the hell? this guy is going backwards! umm...can i get your order?' I ordered and backed up to the pay window and the whole staff was there staring at me.. i paid for my food all calm then i just grabbed my food and backed away slowly while they still stared..

I think my greatest moment in my skyline was driving home after just buying it. I was in calgary and an older gent in an aston martin looked over at me and gave me a thumbs up, I had the biggest smile ever.

LOL. I had the same thing happen to me but the old guy was driving a 760li with rims and performance exhaust(sounded insane). He looks at me and says "that takes me back" and when I asked him why he said "one day you will be were I am and will understand what i mean". That made the rest of my day.

                    • These posts about older drivers APPRECIATING Skylines is really putting a smile on my face. It's a bit ironic really, since I generally expect NFS:Ricerground kids to drool over GT-R's.

                      • Some older Italian fellow, raced up beside me got me to roll down the window told me that I had a beautiful car and asked me how hard it was to get here and then with a italian hand signal of some sort asked me if I was going to beef it up.

I was amazed he knew what it was.

                        • since snowmobiling is my life, i spend some time on a certain sledding forum that will go un-named. anyway, theres a guy who loves imports and loves to ster up trouble so he keeps posting stats showing that the new GTR is better in every way than the Z06 and the americans freak out the second anybody even tries to consider that something could be better than the all mighty vette. one of them even said that to an american, saying that a japanese car is better than the corvette is like burning the flag. and you know how americans are about their flags.... lol. anyway, theres a story about people who know nothing lol. at least theres a few younger ones who know quite a bit about JDM cars and practicly worship my car. just suck to live somewhere that doesnt allow you to import one.

                          • well, there are a good number of us from the island, and well, i've seen their posts here and agree that it has to be one of the most hilarious places to hear misinformation and it's constituent stupidity run rampant, from constantly correcting friend's parents about the reality of the 15-25 year rule issue, to being at a stop sign and some g money thugtown "class a" moron tries to race you in his 77 camaro he was likely born in, and you watch him do a peg legged burnout and get pulled over while you cruise through the intersection laughing.

in any case, we're a pretty niche interest group, so to be intolerant of people's ignorance would make you even more ignorant.

How ignorant...and ironic! I think that if he got a JDM '07 civic, it'd be the same as drving a Skyline here? He can't get it anyway. What an idiot.
